About the company:
Qingdao Brewery is the largest brewery in China. It was founded by German settlers in 1904. The company is the flagship of brewing - it accounts for 20% of the domestic market of the country. Beer is brewed on the mineral water of the Laoshan spring, which gives it a characteristic taste.
Initially, Qingdao beer was brewed in accordance with the German “Purity Law”, that is, only barley, hops and water were used. However, after the privatization of the plant, the recipe has changed, and today it includes wort and less expensive rice impurities. The brewery produces some beers for the local market, namely Qingdao dark, containing 5.2% alcohol, and Qingdao Spirulina Green with 4.5% alcohol, containing spirulina, good for health.
In June 1991, the International Beer Festival opened in Qingdao, which later became an annual festival. This noisy holiday always gathers a huge number of guests, which contributes to the development of tourism and beer culture in Qingdao.
