The Mayapan plant is engaged in the distillation of tequila. The plant opens its doors to visitors, offering to get acquainted with the process of distilling the juice of agave trees. In addition, there is an open farm where sheep, chickens and horses are raised.
Mayapan is a well-known Mexican brand of tequila. At the head factory you can see with your own eyes how the legendary Mexican drink is made. Especially fascinating is the visit to agave plantations in the season of “himado” – harvest, when workers, using a machete and a two-handed saw, cut numerous trunks, which will later become raw materials for distillation of alcohol.
The plant is focused on the development of “green” environmentally friendly technologies, so all buildings are built from natural components, and a special cleaning and sewerage system is one of the most advanced in Mexico.
