What do Russians eat when traveling?

Most of our compatriots on trips eat in local establishments and try new dishes.

OneTwoTrip conducted a survey, and determined that 38% of respondents eat in local cafes and restaurants on trips. Hotels where you can eat were preferred by only 5% of respondents. Some Russians noted that they usually eat breakfast at the hotel, and eat dinner or lunch in local institutions.

37% of Russians said that they eat differently in each trip and do not have a single habit: 10% of Russians love to cook themselves. Young people 19-25 years old choose this option twice as often as tourists of other ages.

One of the most popular unusual dishes of Russian travelers - crocodile and shark meat, snails and seafood - oysters, sea urchins, crabs.

Unusual options include live octopus tentacles, kangaroo steaks, jellyfish and insects, such as grasshoppers, fried cockroaches and silkworm larvae.
