How is gastronomic tourism developing in Altai?
In Gorno-Altaisk on January 22, within the framework of the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia", the laboratory of regional cuisine "Taste of Altai" was held.
The laboratory was held at the certified world skills site in the workshops Gorno-Altai State Polytechnic College. It was attended by the head of the Altai Republic O. Khorokhordin, representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Health of the region, restaurants, tourist complexes.
The participants of the project prepared 90 dishes of modern Siberian cuisine and indigenous cuisine of the Altai Mountains using local products: snacks, soups, fish, meat, pastries, drinks, desserts, cheeses.
Agricultural producers and farms of Altai presented their products: meat and dairy delicacies, honey, herbal teas, products and drinks based on wild plants.
“Gastronomic Map of Russia” is a system of voluntary certification in the field of gastronomic tourism. The project is supported by the Federal Agency for Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of the Russian Federation.
Similar design and training laboratories were held in the Ryazan, Pskov, Murmansk regions, in the Krasnodar Territory, in the Kuzbass.
The project involves restaurants, family bakeries, cafes, confectionery shops, micro-productions of gastrosouvenirs, shops of local products, restaurant holdings, tourist bases, centers for preserving the ethno-cultural heritage of small indigenous peoples, culinary studios, cheesemakers, wineries, wineries and agrotourism complexes.
