This will happen thanks to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, according to which the work of all catering establishments on New Year's Eve is permissible until 3 o'clock in the morning on January 1.
The reason for the relaxation of quarantine measures is the November appeal of the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of the Republic of Tatarstan to the President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov with a request to support business.
However, significant restrictions were not introduced in Tatarstan – unlike Moscow and St. Petersburg, the entire hospitality industry is operating at full capacity. In Kazan, there are hotels, museums, theaters, cinemas, shopping and entertainment centers; restaurants and cafes are open until 12 at night every day.
According to experts, the situation with the infection is controlled, the operational headquarters meets every 2 days, and the head of Rospotrebnadzor for the Republic of Tatarstan Marina Potyashina noted that by mid-December 2020, the percentage of severe forms of COVID-19 diseases fell by 15%.
“We very strictly follow the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor,” said Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tajikistan on Tourism.
This is especially true for tourism – masks, sanitizers, social distance are strictly mandatory in all segments.
Mr. Ivanov recalled that serious fines were repeatedly applied to legal entities in Tatarstan for violating norms.
As for the loading of hotels for the New Year holidays, it was very high even before the announcement of New Year restrictions in St. Petersburg and the Moscow region.
“We have before loading in hotels on New Year’s Eve was about 75%, and from January 2 – 85%,” – said Sergey Ivanov. But now we expect 100% loading for all New Year holidays. His words are confirmed by representatives of Kazan hotels.
