When is the second sale of tours with cashback in Russia planned?
The second stage of the cashback program for tours in Russia is scheduled for October and should last 1.5 months.
The head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova said that the exact date will be named later: "...Including this will depend on how quickly we, together with our colleagues, agree on changes to the current rules for granting subsidies."
As for the timing of the second stage, we plan to significantly expand it at the request of people and expect that our citizens will have the opportunity to purchase tours within the second stage for at least one and a half months.
Rosturizm added that they hope that the second stage of the sale will be held according to a previously planned plan.
The Russian government has allocated 15 billion rubles for a program to support domestic tourism, which was affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Tourists can return up to 20% of the cost of travel in Russia purchased from participants of the program – tour operators and hotels.
The first stage of the sale of domestic tours with cashback took place on August 21-28, and more than 60 thousand tourists purchased tours and accommodation in hotels for more than 1.4 billion rubles. Cashback amounted to 5 thousand rubles for every 25 thousand rubles of the cost of one tourist service, but not more than 15 thousand rubles for one bank card.
By the second stage, the rules of the program will change – the minimum threshold for refunds will be removed, and the maximum amount of cashback should be 50 thousand rubles. The minimum number of days of rest for participation in the program will be reduced from 4 to 2 days to take part in it could travel on weekends.
