Summer tourist season in Russia will begin on May 1
Rostourism, representatives of the tourism industry and regions plan to launch the summer tourist season on May 1, and its final by the end of September.
The head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova at a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation said: We see that the situation is gradually normalizing, and this gives us hope for a full-fledged summer tourist season. And now we, with the regions, tour operators, with large hotel nets, have worked on the launch of the holiday season on May 1 and the completion in late September to expand the wings of the season and give people a comfortable rest without crowding.
According to her, it is important to solve two problems. “The first is to show people wide opportunities for recreation in the country. The second is to ensure the maximum affordability of such trips <...> we want to scale the charter program through a separate subsidy and launch 12 new destinations with direct flights from several major cities of Russia at once.
Doguzova added that Rostourism worked with Russian Railways to launch a new format of rest - railway cruises, when whole cars can be used as tourist.
