The Ministry of health of Russia: the resumption of flights abroad has not increased the number of cases of COVID-19 in the country

The head of the Ministry of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko said that the opening of international flights has not yet led to a significant deterioration in the incidence of new coronavirus infection.

“While we do not note this, security measures are still being taken,” the minister said in an interview with Rossiya 1 TV channel.

According to Murashko, the situation with the incidence of COVID-19 in Russia is stable and "has a positive trend": he cited as an example data that the number of patients in medical organizations in Russia for three months has decreased by half.

But, nevertheless, 90 thousand patients receive therapy in hospitals of the Russian Federation. A little more than 2.5 thousand are in intensive care on artificial ventilation.”

According to him, in 30 regions, “the situation, although it has a positive dynamics, still remains tense.” First of all, these are areas where shift workers are present – “northern, mainly regions, and the main task of employers is to protect these working settlements.”

According to him, so far in Russia there is not a single confirmed case of re-infection with the coronavirus, and abroad such a case for the entire period of the pandemic was reliably recorded once.
