The high cost of air travel also hinders the development of tourism in the regions - in 2023, operators did not receive government subsidies for the organization of charters.
The problem of popularization of domestic tourism together with the Ministry of Economic Development intend to solve in the ANO "National Priorities".
There are subjects that tourists consider “invisible” at all – Voronezh, Smolensk, Amur regions, Trans-Baikal, Khabarovsk Territory.
At the same time, the popular Sochi, Krasnodar Territory, Moscow, Altai, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan and Dagestan are assessed as “overcrowded”.
In the near future, the National Priorities together with the Ministry of Economic Development plan to launch a campaign to promote short trips of the weekend.
Underestimated tourist attractions can be called: the natural park "Lena Pillars" in Yakutia, Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP in Khakassia, ski resort "Mountain Air" on Sakhalin.
In the regions of the country, which are less known or are far from the central part of Russia, travel mainly tourists from neighboring regions. Most often these are short weekend trips on personal transport.
Popularization of recreation in the regions is hampered by its high cost: this year tour operators have not received subsidies for the organization of charters, and their cost has increased.
