A new trend - when do Russians buy tickets for a trip?
In October, Russian travelers began to book tickets one and a half times more often on the day of their trip, if we compare them with the same period in 2019.
Analysts of the OneTwoTrip service found that the share of air tickets purchased by customers of the service on the eve of departure was 7% of the total. In 2019, the figure was 4.8%.
Train tickets are traditionally more often bought on the day of departure, but their number in 2020 increased to 15.2 from 9.4% in October 2019.
Analysts emphasize that most often, both air and railway tickets on the day of travel are bought to Moscow and St. Petersburg. By plane, the service customers also go on spontaneous trips to Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan, Ufa, Sochi, Novosibirsk and Mineral Waters.
