Russians allowed to transfer tours with cashback due to restrictions in the regions

Russians who purchased tours or booked hotels under the tourist cashback program will be able to postpone the trip until the end of 2021, if the holiday destination declared a high alert or emergency. Government Decree of December 29, 2020 No. 2333.

The signed document amends the Government Decree of August 10, 2020 No. 1200.

The rules apply to citizens who purchased tours under the cashback program, but in the region of their permanent residence was declared a high alert or emergency.

The exact date of transfer must be determined by an additional agreement between the tourist and the legal entity that formed the tourist service.

In case of introduction of the regime of high readiness or emergency situation on the territory of the Russian Federation on which the tourist service is provided or the tourist resides, the term of provision of tourist service paid in the period of payment may be postponed to a later term determined additionally by agreement between the tourist and the legal entity (individual entrepreneur) that formed the tourist service, but not later than December 31, 2021.

“The decision is due to the fact that due to the introduction of new restrictive measures in the regions, many tourists began to turn to tour operators and hotel owners with a request to postpone their trip to a later date.” Citizens feared a possible travel ban and cancellation of vouchers. These issues are now resolved at the Government level.”
