How many tourists entered Russia on e-visas and group visa-free exchange?
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the organized tourist flow to Russia in the summer of 2024 increased by 2.5-3 times compared to last year.
Most of the tourists came from China, 60-65% of the incoming flow. UAE and other Gulf Arab countriesSaudi Arabia. Qatar. OmanKuwait, Bahrain – about 15-20% India and Iran - 5-7% each, and Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia), Vietnam) about 5-6%.
In summer, more than 500,000 foreigners visited Russia on e-visa and visa-free group trips. Accessibility plays an important role: 20 new international flights were opened in June.
The Deputy Minister of Economic Development noted that negotiations are underway with the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the launch of flights and the abolition of visas with Saudi Arabia.
About 90% of foreign tourists fly to Moscow, of which 20-30% also visit St. Petersburg. Murmansk, Sochi and Kazan are popular.
Primorye attracts special attention, where almost half of Chinese group tourists come, mainly by land transport.
