Ranking of dangerous countries
The publication Der Spiegel (Germany) made the top of the most dangerous countries for travelers.
The rating is based on the information of specialists of the German society Bündnis Entwicklung Hilft: it demonstrates in which part of the planet there is a danger of death from natural disasters.
Researchers from the Ruhr University (Germany) studied 171 countries from the point of view of statistics of natural disasters and the readiness of local authorities, as well as the number of medical facilities, the state of roads, the work of emergency services. For example, in seismically disadvantaged Japan, the risk was 11.8, and in distant Guyana - 23.3.
Pacific Islands vanuatu Tonga has become the most dangerous, where people are threatened by earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes. In the Philippines, there is a high risk of landslides and volcanic eruptions.
In the risk zone - almost the entire Central America, Africa, part of the Southeast Asian countries. Russia is on the list of countries where this risk is low – 3.2 points. And least of all he's in katarSaudi Arabia, Malta.
Previously, the top safe countries for tourists were headed by Scandinavian countries, including Finland and Switzerland, Slovenia, Luxembourg. This picture was presented by International SOS, whose specialization is tourism security.
Risks for tourists were taken into account in all variety: in the field of medicine - the prevalence of infections, the availability of drugs, ambulance standards, and political - wars, riots, terrorism, crime rates. The countries in this ranking are divided by the level of security into five categories – minor, low, medium, high, extreme.
The map shows areas in green, where the risk for travelers is minimal: Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, Denmark, Slovenia, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
A large part of civilized Europe, China, USACanada, Australia. UAE Oman, part of Southeast Asia and Uzbekistan, are listed as low-risk countries. It is possible that terrorist attacks against tourists and difficulties with migrants are offset by a high level of overall security.
