Lermontov Drama Theater
Khakassia, Abakan, Shchetinkina St., 12.
About the company:
The State Institution of Culture of the Republic of Khakassia "Russian Republican Drama Theater named after M.Y. Lermontov" Russian Drama Theater named after M.Y. Lermontov is a carrier of the traditions of Russian and world theater culture, comprehending the classical heritage in the light of the spiritual requests of the renewing Russian society, contributing to the preservation and development of the dramatic culture of the Republic of Khakassia and the Russian Federation. For any theater in its history, the most important names are the names of actors, directors, masters - artists, composers, carvers, designers ... they make the theater, it is their aspirations, aspirations, hopes, it is their work that creates what we later call the history of the theater. The history of the Russian Republican Drama Theater named after M.Y. Lermontov in Abakan began officially in May 1939 with the approval of Nikolai Stepanovich Pozdnyakov, Director of the Regional Drama Theater of Russian Drama, and the transfer of the theater part of the House of Culture to the disposal of the theater being created. The order on the establishment of the regional Russian Drama Theatre of June 10, 1939 was the first in its history. The first artistic director of the theater was appointed Mikhail Andreevich Borzunov. According to archival data, the main backbone of the acting troupe and the production team were employees of the Votkinsky Drama Theater. During the formation of the troupe was staffed by graduates of the Leningrad Central Theatre School and actors from different theaters of the country (from Fergana, Kizlyar, Krasnoyarsk). According to the information placed in the book of the collectors of theatrical history V.F. Shlyk and L.F. Shlyk “The Fate and Mystery of the Russian Theater in Khakassia”, these were: “actors who arrived from Votkinsk: Nadine E.F., Volsky S.P., Kolesnikova A.I., Sadovnikova L.A., Rubinstein (Rubinova) V.I., Voevoda A.S., Kleimenov L.S., Kleimenov P.I., V.A.A., A.A.K.A.A., A.A.A.A.A., A.A.P.A.A.Kleiyev, A.Kleiyev, A.A.A.A.P.K.A., A.A.A.A.P.A., A.P.A.A.P., A.P.A.A.P.A.V.A.A.A. Zuykova M.E. and Zuykov D.S. came from the Krasnoyarsk railway theater. From Kizlyar came Nadina A.I., Smolskaya V.N., Vereshchaаgina L.A., Sartakova A.A., Nikolskaya M.M., Mechkov A.M., Alekseаev P.F., Stepanov K.V., Vyushkov A.O. are actors. Evgeny Fedorovich Nadine is a director. Enrolled in the staff of the theater, chief artist Sergey Ivanovich Kazanovsky and artist Peter Sidorovich Petrov, stage machinist G. G. Berengarden, senior illuminator A. A. Kharaldin (he is also the head of the lighting department), A. K. Neronov – scene inspector. Enrolled in the position of actor-director I.P. Petrukhin. A large group of 11 graduates of the Leningrad Theatre School arrived: Kazanovsky S.I., Martysh A.S., Zakharov A.N., Smolskaya V.N., Tarasova M.S., Sorokin B.K., Petrova N.S., Pischik M.A., Balitsky A.A..” The opening of the first theatrical season took place on October 10, 1939 with the play “Optimistic Tragedy” by Vsevolod Vishnevsky. And it was very successful. From the very first steps, the regional theater of Russian drama won its audience, its fans, and from the same moment the theater does not stop tense, but very interesting creative life. Since its foundation, the theater has been touring the Khakass Autonomous Region, as well as the city of Minusinsk (currently the Krasnoyarsk Territory). During the formation of the theater, many performances were staged both classical domestic and foreign dramaturgy, and modern, reflecting the specifics of the Soviet era. These were “Glory” and “Paul of the Greeks”, “Maria Tudor” and “Gardens bloom”, “Son” and “Marriage of Belugin”, “Love Spring” “There was not a penny, but suddenly Altyn”, “Man with a gun” and “Late love”. Initially, the repertoire of the Russian Drama Theatre turned out to be very rich, which will become its hallmark for many decades to come. This was facilitated by the spirit of the acting troupe of the initial period, which later will also become traditional, carefully preserved in the Russian theater: the troupe was stable, its updates took place from time to time, the actors were distinguished by concentration, responsibility, reverent attitude to their profession. In the forties, the troupe comes Rakhmanov S.B. – the main director of the theater, director, artist and actor Anatoly Vasilyevich Shvartsman, actress and director Nadezhda Nikolaevna Dolina, actor and director Gleb Alexandrovich Nemirovich-Danchenko, artist and actor Fedor Fedorovich Versailles, actors Z.A. Dmitriev, B.I. Shipilov, A.A. Vazhenin, S.M. Vazhenina and others. From the Krasnoyarsk theater named after A.S. Pushkin to our theater come the famous composer A.A. Kenel, future director N.P. Katinsky, M.G. Karon, actress and director ... In 1941, before the war, the repertoire of the theater consists of several plays based on the plays of A. N. Ostrovsky (“Let the Light Not Warm”, “Not All the Maslenitsa Cat”, etc.), Fuld’s play “Fool”, the play of the Tour brothers “Unequal Marriage”, vaudevilles and sketches, the premiere performance based on the novel by Ethel Lilian Voynich “Garden”, which closes the winter season ... But the Great Patriotic War begins, and the acting troupe is drained, many performances are deprived of leading actors, directors, artists. However, despite this, the theater does not stop its work, very young guys from 16 drama circles that existed at that time come to the troupe, fighters who are being treated in military hospitals in Abakan. This constant update did not reduce the overall level of theatrical productions. It was in 1941, on July 26, that the premiere of the play “Two Brothers” by M.Y. Lermontov was presented. From that moment, the theater of Russian drama began to bear the name of the great Russian poet: later on our stage were staged “Masquerade”, “Spanish”, “People and Passions”, “Strange man”. It is worth noting that “People and Passions” is the only production in the Soviet Union. In 1941, the theater also experienced one of the most unpleasant moments: on July 27, an order was issued to liquidate the theater, but then, on September 1, another order “the regional theater of Russian drama is organized as a self-financing team”, S.B. Rakhmanov was appointed director. All the war and post-war years, the theater developed, experiencing inevitable difficulties both in financial and material, and in creative plans, constantly being in search: replenishment of the troupe, talented directors, artists, composers, leaders. In 1951, the era of Nikolai Kuchev and Nadezhda Bogatova began in our theater. N.L. Kuchev began work in the spring of 1951. People’s Artist of Russia, famous throughout the Khakass region and later the Republic of Khakassia, was revered and famous as a magnificent master of the stage. In his opinion, he was lucky to work with A.F. Nuss, a talented director, under whom the theater developed both artistically and materially. Thanks to the assessment of N. L. Kuchev, we can note many directors who worked in his memory: M. I. Dogmarov, M. V. Shneiderman, L. Y. Veksler, S. T. Medvedsky, Konstantin Petrov. All directors N.L. Kuchev associated with the production of certain performances. So, Konstantin Petrov staged the performances “Ivan the Terrible”, “Taming the Shrew”, “Third Pathetic”, “Moscow”. The Kremlin. Director N.I. Khomyakov in the early 80-ies were presented productions of “Dear friend”, “Echelon”, “Private”, “Taiga legend”, “Zinulya”, “My dear Pamela” and others. Director V.I. Ivandaev was, in the opinion of N.L. Kuchev, “surprisingly subtle”, “gentle” director. His performances are “Co-workers”, “Full Moon”. N.L. Kuchev played central roles, in particular, it was the performances “Vozhak” (directed by A. Tuguzhekov), “Snow fell”, “Sayan Ridges” (directed by E. Kokov). N.G. Bogatova played over 50 years on our stage more than a hundred roles, created unforgettable images of heroines, and, to a greater extent, fans of our theater remembered the heroines of classical plays: Arkadina in “The Seagull”, Helen in “Marriage of Belugin”, Anisya in “The Power of Darkness”, Maria Tudor in the play of the same name, Lebedkina in “Late Love”.. In the central roles, N.L. Kuchev and N.G. Bogatova (spouses who preserved their love and loyalty to the end) played in many performances, for example, “The Last Request”. A whole gallery of different and such dissimilar roles - and unconditional service to the history of the theater: collecting theatrical relics, posters, programs, articles, notes, photographs, gifts, gifts - a small list of activities of N.G. Bogatova, which at the time of writing this article she gives all her strength. Nadezhda Georgievna and Nikolai Lavrentievich witnessed the merger of two theaters in 1954 – the Russian Drama Theater and the Khakass National Theater due to the difficult economic situation. The Russian troupe staged its own performances, the Khakass – its own, but there were also united ones, such as Port Arthur, Yermak. Not only the actors exchanged their talent, but the directors were in demand in both theaters: N.N. Dolina and A.V. Shvartsman staged their performances with the Khakass troupe. At this time, the reviews of critics contained very flattering characteristics of the creative work of the combined troupe, noting the real, not far-fetched international character of the theater. From the late fifties to the eighties, the theater, like many in the Soviet Union, developed steadily, with its victories and mistakes. And just like many theaters, since the mid-eighties, it has been going through difficult, sometimes impossible, sometimes optimistic times. A lot of what happened to the theater, its team, repertoire is described in the book of the actor, who gave a lot of years to the Russian drama, Viktor Fedorovich Shlyk and his wife, L.F. Shlyk, “The fate and mystery of the Russian theater in Khakassia”. From 1985 to 1991, until the separation of the two troupes, the theater was headed by S. Verkhgradsky, director. His bold, unusual in form and content performances (for example, “Brest world”), his definition of repertory policy – all his leadership was noted as subtle, skillful. Under his leadership, our theater was noted by critics of Moscow and Leningrad. With its organization, the theater made a large tour of the Union: Dushanbe, Sakhalin, the Urals, major cities of the country. In the mid-90s of the twentieth century, the artistic director and director of the Russian dramatic theater was S.G. Boldyrev. His productions (for example, “The Cherry Orchard”) have always been ambiguous and perceived by the public in completely polar positions, as well as the performances of his colleague Yu.P. Nesterov (in particular, one of his most powerful performances of that time was considered “Father” A. Strindberg with a perfectly selected professional cast). In the theater of Russian drama worked not only actors, directors, giving themselves to him to the end. There are also such famous personalities, for example, Peter Velyaminov, Konstantin Richter, who began to reveal their talent here, and then became in demand in the capital theaters and cinema. However, not everyone succumbed to the temptation to gain a foothold in the capital. In particular, Alexander Karpov, starring in Vladimir Uskov’s film “Ermak” as Bogdan Bryazga, then returned to the theater. In fairness, it should be noted that many people who came to work in the Russian Drama, and remain in it. The fate of Nina Fedorovna Pankova is interesting in this regard. At one time, she was a good, fair director of our theater, but when the time came to give up this post, she did not leave the theater, remaining as a librarian of the Union of Theatre Workers, which is also located in the theater building, built in 1978. And many of you can say that. After all, not only actors create the theatrical spirit in the Republic, but also those people who have served in the theater for many years: this is Nina Burmistrova (more than 40 years she sews costumes for actors), and Gennady Kondrashov (light artist), and Vitaly Demkin (sound engineer), and the head of the musical part of V.I. Razdoburdin, and the head of the personnel department N.I. Rozhnova, and the chief accountant N.D. Fomina... Many people create this theater over and over again. At the end of the twentieth century, not only the ministers of the theater, but also the press began to pay more attention to the artistic and musical design of performances, the requirements of the audience for the organization and quality of productions increased. They noted the absolute dedication to the theatrical art of the artist A.I. Plint, the master of lighting S.F. Sarantsev, and, of course, one of the most talented composers of the Republic of Khakassia - V.I. Razdoburdin. The nineties of the twentieth century almost destroyed theaters in Russia. However, despite all the difficulties of the time, culture is still the original part of the Russian nation and cannot be destroyed like Carthage. It was this main task – to survive – that was dedicated to the efforts of the artistic director, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Oleg Ivanovich Ryabenko and Director Sergey Lebedev, now working as an actor in the troupe. Under their joint leadership, classical plays began to return to the stage of the theater: “The Cherry Orchard”, “Uncle Vanya”. During these years, such performances as “Yesterday, Today and Always”, “Male gender is the singular number”, “The Man Who Pays” and others were staged. Today, the theater has its own creative face and strives to preserve it, forming a repertoire of classical and original dramatic works. A theater with a high scenic culture and traditions must meet the requirements of the time, the audience and the level of modern world theater. In 2005, our theater received the official name of the State Institution of Culture of the Republic of Khakassia “Lermontov Russian Republican Drama Theater” and is the only theater of its kind in the Republic of Khakassia with a population of over 450 thousand people. This year was marked by two iconic productions at once: The Spaniards returned to the stage in the production of the guest director Alexander Tarasov and in his production came to us the old Russian vaudevilles Daughter of a Russian Actor and Trouble from a Tender Heart. Completely changed the leadership, in the position of Director at the moment (2006) Honored Artist of the Republic of Khakassia Andrey Patrickeyev, the position of chief director came Yuri Nesterov, who left the theater in the nineties and returned here again at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Khakassia, another director with a kind of vision of the staged world Vladimir Gordeev. In addition, the theater carried out the graduate work of a young director with great potential Dina Chernova. The repertoire of the Russian Theatre during 2003-2005 contained 36 performances. Since the Russian Republican Drama Theatre is repertory, the policy of creating and developing the repertoire includes both the preservation of performances of the current repertoire and the creation of new productions with the aim of developing the cultural heritage of the nation. The repertoire includes both domestic classical and modern dramaturgy, and foreign classical and modern dramaturgy: “The Triumph of Love” and “Late Love”, “The Spaniards” and “Heavenly Second Hand”, “Karol” and “Supnitsa”, “The Murder of Gonzago” and Russian vaudevilles, “The Free Couple” and “Adelaide”, “Luti” and “Serenades of Old Seville”.. In the repertoire of the theater there are many children's fairy tales: "Upside down", "Princess and pig herder", "Jolly Roger", "Blond Fairy", "Frost"... Currently, the Russian Drama Theatre is served by actors with various honorary titles - People's Artist of the Republic of Khakassia N.G. Bogatova, Honored Artists of the Russian Federation - Oleg Ryabenko, Tatiana Zubareva, Nadezhda Filimonova, Alexander Yaskov, Honored Artists of the Republic of Khakassia - Vera Blinova, Nadezhda Zamaratsky, Fedor Zolotukhin, Sania Kasimova, Viktor Arkanov, Lyudmila Dranikova (Losyakova), young actors who have already achieved a certain recognition and director Antonya Zhannikova, Zhanna Tsova, Zhannikova Tsova, Zhanna Tsova, Zakharna Tsatalina, Zakharina Zhanna Tsova and Zakharova: On a special account of theatrical fans is the actor Savva Revich, who returned from America back to Russia. In September 2006, for the first time in ten years, the theater took part in the away festival - the VI interregional festival "Siberian Transit" with the play "A Dawns Are Quiet Here...", where it was very highly appreciated both the direction of the play (Yuria Nesterova) and the acting ensemble itself. Tatiana Antonova for the best embodiment of the role of a young actor – the performance of the role of Lisa Brichkina – received the prize “Hope”, which can be called a landmark in the current history of the theater – we really have hope not to lose, but to strengthen, nurture good theatrical traditions and embody them in the future life of the theater. In December 2006, the same performance in Moscow at the First All-Russian Competition of Performances Promoting the Ideas of Patriotism, Love for the Motherland" became a laureate, winner of a 2nd degree diploma, as well as a prize in the nomination "Best Female Role" received actress Natalia Ron for performing the role of Sonya Gurvich. In 2007, 5 new productions were staged at the theater, including Marleni (January), Five Million Dollars (March), Three! Hello! (June), The Gift of Love (October), and Scattered (November). In addition to the performances in December 2007, the game interludes “New Year’s Juliettomania” and “Surprise for Grandpa Frost” were presented. This year was carefully revised and presented in a completely new directorial performance of the play by the French playwright P.K. Marivo's "The Triumph of Love", named in connection with the reworking of the director's concept "You Will Love Me". This performance at one time was staged on a large stage, its duration was more than two and a half hours. However, the modern requirements of the spectator, as well as the difficult situation associated with the long closure of the big stage due to repair work in the theater foyer, have become a prerequisite for the revision and revision of some performances to improve their mobility. In this regard, the above performance was transferred to the small stage, the director’s concept and acting work were thought out in a different way, and this comedy is currently very popular with the audience. In connection with the change in the form of the play, it was presented to the audience in the framework of the competition “Talents and Fans”. In September 2007, the author’s independent work of the young actor Stanislav Klapin on the life and work of M.Y. Lermontov was presented at the RK “RDT named after M.Y. Lermontov”: the artist created a thematic production dedicated to the great Russian poet and writer, which is currently presented on behalf of the theater in various secondary and higher educational institutions, is a means of promoting Russian culture and theater art. This production has a cultural, educational and educational character, intended for a multi-age audience. In this production, in a dynamic, exciting and accessible form, the periods of life and creativity of M.Y. Lermontov, his formation, development, his spiritual searches and achievements are covered. The children’s repertoire of the theater for 2007 has expanded: in addition to the successfully exploited fairy tales “Upside Down”, “Frost”, “The Nutcracker”, focused on different age groups of children, a concert program on the Grimm brothers’ fairy tales “Seven at one stroke” with the original music of the Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Khakassia V.I. Razdoburdin and the premiere of the fairy tale “Threy! Hello!” based on the play of the same name by S. Kozlov were carefully revised and presented. The repertoire for children at the moment contains both folk tales ("Frost") and fairy tales included in the world dramaturgy ("The Nutcracker", "The Princess and the Pigherd", "Seven at one stroke"), as well as modern fairy tales ("Three! Hello!, Upside Down, Merry Roger, The Blonde Fairy. Attention to the formation of a high-quality children's repertoire is due to the need to educate children and young people. These programs are a means of educating the young viewer, the implementation of aesthetic and value settings. In February 2007, a benefit show of the play “Luti” was organized, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Khakassia N.V. Zamaratsky and the 60th anniversary of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Khakassia Fedor Zolotukhin. In addition to the repertory, during 2007, thematic events were also presented: Christmas, Theatre Day, Children’s Day, Closing the season with the traditional closing of the curtain and farewell to the audience, Opening the 68th theatrical season with the solemn summing up of the II theatrical competition of open acting works “Talents and Fans” and awarding prizes and gifts to the winners. These actions were created on a professional level and caused positive reviews both in the press and among the audience. The results of the competition were distributed spectacularly and the best roles in each performance were determined: the play “Luti”, the director-director Honored Artist of the Russian Federation O.I. Ryabenko, the best role named by the audience, the role of Vovan (performer – artist D. Engel), the play “Serenades of the Old Seville”, the director-director – the main deserved artist Yu.P. Nesterov, the role of Kanysares (performer – artist S. Revich), the play “Marzhimnikov” (Player of the Republic), “Lazhivatska – the Director of the Russian Federation – the Director-Republic”. Also, for the first time in the last five years, a tour was organized in Achinsk (December 2007). At the Achinsky Theatre, the play for adults “Luti” and the children’s interlude “The Adventures of Pippi and the Robber” were presented. The visit was a great creative and financial success, the performances deserved high marks of the audience. A return visit of the Achinsky Theatre is expected in 2008. After a long break, the expected event took place in the Republic of Khakassia - in October 2007 the Republican Festival of Theatres of Khakassia "Magic Stages" was held, in which three theaters of the republic took part: GUK RK "RRDT named after M.Y. Lermontov", "KHNDT named after A.M. Topanov", music and drama theater "Chitigen". The jury of the festival consisted of professional critics - the chairman of the jury - the deputy artistic director of the Vakhtangov Theatre, a leading theater critic, a member of the expert council for drama of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography of Russia, the head of the literary and dramatic part of L.E. Ostropolskaya (Moscow), members of the jury: the teacher of the stage speech of the Russian Theatre Academy, Associate Professor I.A. Avtushenko (Moscow), Doctor of Philistic Sciences, Professor V.E. Golovchiner (Tomsk), Tarbanakova Svetlana Nikolayevna, Chairman of the Theatres, Artist of the Russian Federation, Albayevna, K. The festival became a really important event for theatrical life. During the four festival days, many actors, directors, employees of the artistic and staged part of our theater had the opportunity not only to show their own work, but also to listen to professional comments, advice, wishes to improve their professional activities, identify “weak spots” in productions, look at the creative theatrical life of the republic as a whole from a new angle. The play “The Gift of Love”, presented as part of the festival, which was submitted to the audience on October 10 and became the premiere of the 68th theatrical season, was recognized by the jury as one of the best performances. So, in particular, L. E. Ostropolskaya noted that this performance is the creative property of the theater, in which everything is harmonious: directing, and acting, and the skill of artists in costumes, scenography, light and music. The director of the play - with imagination, who owns the space. A very good costume designer, able to work with the material and create the beauty of the performance. Very good, interesting musical design, it is self-valued, creates a mood, in a good illustrative way. Professionally put light that today on the stage is a rarity. Perfectly solved plastic melting of the Snow Maiden ... It is very important that there are beautiful people on the stage. Wonderful Snow Maiden, fragile, tender as an ice cream... The actress who plays Kupava is emotional, beautiful, seductive, temperamental... She is a good counterpoint to the Snow Maiden. The director’s scene lives, there are relationships, the characters live, do not rest on the stage. This performance brought victory to our theater at the festival "Magic Stages" in three nominations: best director (Y.P. Nesterov), best female role (the role of Kupava - artist V. Prokopenko), the prize "Hope" (the role of the Snow Maiden - artist Natalia Ron). We see the mission of the State Cultural Institution of the Republic of Khakassia "Russian Republican Drama Theater named after M.Y. Lermontov" in the following: formation and satisfaction of the needs of the population of the Republic of Khakassia in the performing arts, development of the theater as an art form and social institution, promotion of the achievements of the theatrical culture of the Republic of Khakassia in the Russian Federation and abroad, the realization of the right of every person to join cultural values, participate in the development of cultural policy; ensuring the safety and safety of performances of the current repertoire of artistic and historical value; promotion of the development of the civil institute of philanthropy.
