Ju-ju

moscow, Smolensky Boulevard, 15

About the company:

A cozy restaurant with a warm atmosphere and an interior made in the style of African safari, which inspired Arkady Novikov to this project. The kitchen is close to home - in recipes and in serving. Particular emphasis is placed on meat, its varieties and methods of preparation. In the open kitchen for visitors there is a large wood stove with three furnaces and a grille. Meat is popularized as a product – on the shelves in front of the open kitchen next to the appetizing “collapse” of vegetables and fruits and a fish showcase, which is not uncommon for the Moscow restaurant public, there is a meat showcase. The name "Ju-Ju" comes from the English "ju-ju", a word with African roots. "Ju-ju" denotes an amulet, a talisman among West African peoples, as well as a spell, the magical power of such an amulet. Chef Andrey Tysyachnikov about his culinary style and cuisine "Ju-Ju". In "Ju-Ju" we offer guests a kitchen close to home - tasty and hearty, in a simple serve. Is that how you eat at home? Shake the salad in a bowl, tucked it in, bowl on the table, yourself - at the table. Roasted the patties on the pan, and right from the heat - a pan on the board, a board on the table, yourself at the table. Just like in "Joo-Joo." Scratching pans, clay pots and wooden bowls, cast iron, and in them all the meat dishes that you can imagine: kebabs, kebabs, sausages, steaks, calf and chicken liver. Meat - lamb, lamb, veal, beef, pork, chickens. Fish - ice, carp, perch, flounder - baked, from the oven, on the grill. “We tried to create a colonial African atmosphere in Juju. The interior of the restaurant combines ethnic and European details. On the walls hang thematic photos from the life of the aborigines of the African continent, shelving cabinets are filled with modern vases of black and light yellow colors, on the wall of the main hall above the fireplace - a large rhino head. It was a very elegant, in our opinion, African-European mix. We paid great attention to the choice of natural materials, warm, cozy - those that I would like to touch, touch with my hand. In "Ju-Ju" floors made of natural oak, on them - oriental carpets. The ceilings are also wooden, in the main hall the texture of the ceiling imitates a mat. Cozy striped sofas, wicker chairs - all this creates a warm atmosphere of homeliness. The highlight of the interior of "Ju-Ju" is a wall of wooden timber in one of the halls, the bars are stacked one to one, look squarely at the hall, but the distance from the wall is their own. It looks very original, such a 3D effect. The restaurant opened on November 15, 2006.
