Nab. October, 66, St. Petersburg, 193079 214 m

Description:

Volodarsky Bridge is named after the famous revolutionary figure M.M. Volodarsky, who was killed on the site of the bridge in 1918. The bridge is located between People’s and Ivanovskaya Street. The architecture was designed by G.P. Perederia, and during the Great Patriotic War the bridge served as a double for the Finnish railway station. The bridge passes through the Neva River, reaching a length of 325.24 m and its construction was necessary, based on the development project of Leningrad in the 30s. The bridge itself was built and finally put into operation in 1986-1993 instead of the arched bridge of the 36th year. The design of the Volodarsky bridge had a lot of defects, including: vibration and vibration of elements of span structures, which led to the destruction of welds, trays and railings. The last large-scale reconstruction was carried out in 2008 in winter, weak elements and metal structures were strengthened. In 2010, there was an incident of collision of the passing vessel "Gloria" with the third pillar of the bridge. Fortunately, there were no deaths, the ship lost steering, but kept afloat, fuel did not leak.
