Netanya is a popular Mediterranean resort in Israel. The city was founded in 1929.
Netanya is 30 km north of Tel Aviv and 56 km south of Haifa. The resort is famous for its clean coast (9 beaches with a length of more than 14 km) and comfortable hotels.
The city is popular among young people: discos and nightclubs are open until the morning, modern fitness centers, tennis courts, squash and bowling grounds, jeep riding and karting are available for vacationers.
The city got its name in honor of the American industrialist and philanthropist Nathan Strauss, who donated a large sum to the founding and development of this settlement.
