Attractions of the Urals: Kyrgyz Rocks

Kyrgyz rocks are not as widely known as the popular in the Urals rock massif Devil's Gorodishche, the Seven Brothers or the ridge of Peter Gronsky. Therefore, there are few tourists, very quiet, calm and clean.

The Kyrgyz rocks are perfect as a point for an excellent weekend hike or an easy foray into nature.

Near the cliffs there are many places for tourist parking, travelers will also have no problems with getting firewood.

You can go on a hike by car along the Serov tract to the village of Ayat or train (the direction of Yekaterinburg - Nizhny Tagil to the Ayat station). The distance from Yekaterinburg is 65 km, the journey time is about one hour.

Travelers need to go through the village of Ayat, and go to the desired forest road from the street of Chemists. After 5-6 km, Mount Kyrman will appear, and on it - rocks.

The height of the Kirman rocks reaches 20 m, they are stretched from the south-west to the north-east. From the top there is a picturesque view of the surrounding area.

For the first time the rocks were studied in 1880, the recording of the study was made by a member of the Wole A. E. Teploukhov. In the 1980s, archaeologists came to the rocks, who made a number of discoveries: on the top they found the sacrificial place and the remains of the smelting furnace of the II millennium AD, on other peaks and in crevices, scientists found objects of clay, stones, bronze, iron, as well as bones.

Toponym "Kyrman" scientists translate differently: "cliff", "elevation", there is also an assumption that "Kara-Urman" previously meant the Bashkir name "Black Forest".
