Arkhyz ski resort is the largest center of all-season tourism in Russia.
The resort opened in 2013, in 2016 won the nomination “Best young ski resort in Russia”, the award “Leaders of the sports industry”, in 2018 became the winner of the national award in the field of sports.
The high mountains of the Abishira Ahuba range protect the village archyz from cold winds, and, thanks to the special microclimate, the weather here is comfortable all year round, and in winter it is sunny and snowy.
How to get there
The ski resort is located in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, in the western part of the North Caucasus.
Large settlements near Arkhyz - village Zelenchukskaya, the city of Cherkessk, Nevinnomyssk.
From the airport in Mineralnye Vody to Arkhyz - 210 km, from the nearest railway station in Cherkessk - 120 km.
There are options with regular buses, taxis, and the resort "Arkhyz" offers its own transfers from / to the airport.
Parking is provided for travelers on personal cars.
Where to stay
At the resort itself (the village of Romantic): several hotels and a boarding house.
In the village of Arkhyz (10 km from the resort): hotels, private houses, apartments of different levels of comfort and prices.
There are options for comfortable accommodation in the village of Nizhny Arkhyz (36 km from the resort).
ski season
You can ride from November-December to March-April. There's an artificial snow system.
The total length of the resort trails is 24.5 km, the northern and southern slopes are open.
The resort has 14 tracks of different difficulty levels, 4 lifts. The length of the long route is 4369 m. The highest point is 2504 m above sea level.
Maybe evening and night skiing.
There is a rental of equipment, there are services of instructors, a children's ski school.

Amuse yourself before, after or instead of riding.
The resort has an open-air ice rink, a spa center with a swimming pool and a fitness center, there are restaurants with Caucasian cuisine and famous chain establishments.
Attractions of Arkhyz
The natural beauties of Arkhyz can be admired all year round: mountains, lakes, passes, waterfalls.
Sofia Falls
Waterfalls are located 15 km from the village, are considered one of the highest in the Caucasus (height drop 90 meters). You can reach them on foot, by horse or SUV. Excursions are held year-round.
Special Astrophysical Observatory of RAS
The largest astronomical observation center in Russia is located in Nizhny Arkhyz at the foot of Mount Pastukhov. Mode of work and time of excursions it is better to specify in advance on the website of the observatory.
Lake Seven-Colored
The picturesque lake is located in the valley of the Great Dukka River, about 2,500 meters high. The lake got its name because the color of the water changes depending on the time of day, the weather and the place from which you look at it.
Lower-Arkhyz Alan settlement
One of the largest monuments of the early Middle Ages in Russia.
On the territory: temples of Abkhaz-Byzantine architecture, solar calendar-circle, ruins of residential and household sites, watchtowers.
Face of Christ
The Face of Christ was discovered by scientists in 1999 at an altitude of about 100 meters in the grotto of the Micešt range. Its history of creation remains to be known.
