Monuments of St. Petersburg
Monument "Daily Bread"
The famous architectural structure "Daily Bread" is located at the address: Commune St., St. Petersburg. The memorial highway called “Rzhevsky Corridor”, with the monument “Daily Bread”, is a monument to the Heroic Defense of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. This highway served as the only way for trucks and special locomotives-trams to deliver goods to distribution points.
The Rzhevsky Corridor is the final section of the famous Road of Life. Along its entire length, the road corridor is supplemented by special mileposts, on which there is the designation “Rzhevsky corridor”. Ascetic in shape, the stele “Daily Bread” is surrounded by a sculptural and convex relief image of heroic paintings of the Great Patriotic War.
Monument to bread
On a granite pedestal with a height of 80 cm there are bakery products made of bronze.
There are two versions of what I wanted to say with my work sculptures. One by one is the glorification of a loaf of black bread, 125 daily grams of which saved the lives of thousands of exhausted Leningrad blockaders.
According to another version, the monument is not by chance next to the bread shop of the Sestroretsk bakery: it seems to demonstrate the rich products of the bakery: sheep, bagels, bunions.
Sculpture "Elyse Kotovich Petersky"
An almost imperceptible sculpture of a charming cat is located on the second floor of the Yeliseevsky deli. The locals affectionately call him Elisha Kotovich of St. Petersburg. There are many legends associated with this cat. One of them says that the black cat sits here in honor of the Shuvalov black pet (it was here in the middle of the XVIII century that the palace of Ivan Ivanovich Shuvalov was located).
It is easy to visit the mustachioed character, just go to the station “Nevsky Prospekt” (exit 3), walk to Malaya Sadovaya Street, wrap on it so that the Eliseevsky store was on the right.
From Manege Square, the route will be similar: walk a little along Italian street, turn to Malaya Marine, walk to the beginning of the street.
Monument to the first Russian submarine
In Sestroretsk there is a unique monument - the first Russian submarine. This submarine is a copy of the first Russian submarine. The boat was made under Peter I, and looked like a huge barrel. Master Nikonov in 1720 at the behest of Peter built initially a model, and then, in 1724, a full-size submarine. This building was called a secret ship.
For the hidden vessel copper sheets, iron stripes, boards, leather, etc. were used.
The first tests were carried out in the autumn of 1724 and ended in failure: the bottom of the ship hit the ground during the dive and was broken. In the spring of 1925, the ship was re-submerged in water, but they found a leak and did not conduct any further diving. Nikonov tested his ship for the third time in 1727.
Sculpture "Carpenter King"
The bronze sculpture of Peter I, commonly known as the “Tsar Carpenter”, became a gift to St. Petersburg by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It was installed in front of the Eastern Pavilion of the Admiralty in 1996 for the 300th anniversary of the Russian Navy.
Dachshund monument
On the university embankment 9, on the territory of the "Modern Sculpture Park" there is a wonderful monument to the dachshund.
The monument is made of bronze and its base is made of granite. The opening was timed to coincide with another holiday, Philologist's Day in 2006. A more accurate opening date is May 19.
The cultural object was built by a famous person, Avetisyan Arsen Albertovich. The monument is quite popular, because around it there are constantly many children, each of whom wants to touch a bronze dachshund, stroke it.
The bronze sculpture-bench of Arsen Avetisyan liked the residents of the city, and became one of its symbols. The monument was erected in 2002, and three years later, on City Day, next to the monument, the city authorities first organized a gathering of dachshund owners with their pets. It has since become a tradition.
Monument to the manager
A Monument to the Manager has recently appeared in St. Petersburg. The monument is a bronze sculpture of a modern manager with a wedding ring on his right hand. In the hands of the sculpture is a laptop. It seems that the bronze man is all immersed in the work. The statue sits on a bronze bench with one leg. The location of the sculptural creation on a bench with one support means, according to the author’s idea, the instability and frailty of everything earthly. Although the monument is very young, it is already overgrown with beliefs. It is believed that if you rub the ring on the hand of a bronze manager, then soon there will be a wedding. And if you just iron the sculpture before work, then work will be a joy.
The sculpture is located at the entrance to the office building on the Pharmacy Embankment near the house No. 20. You can walk to the monument from the Petrogradskaya metro station.
Monument to the photographer
The place for this elegant sculpture was not chosen by chance, it was here, on Malaya Sadovaya, in the house number 3, from the second half of the twentieth century and until the 1930s, there was a photo studio of Bull - the famous dynasty of photographers. Their works immortalize popular politicians, scientists and artists, as well as some important events in Russian history and masterpieces of unique St. Petersburg architecture, many of which have long been lost.
During the siege, a huge photo window was installed near the monument, in which the photo chronicle was changed weekly. Nowadays, there is a belief in the city that those who are photographed under the right hand with a bronze photographer, and then take him by the pinky, will find financial well-being and luck in all endeavors.

Monument to the prickly
On the wall of the Obvodny Canal near the Blue Bridge there is a monument to a prickly fish. During the years of the blockade, this little prickly fish helped thousands of people living in Kronstadt to overcome the terrible famine. When food supplies were running out, and all the larger fish in the vicinity were caught, the inhabitants of Kotlin Island came up with simple dishes from a tiny spine.
Monument "Boots of the nameless summer resident"
According to the plan of the sculptors, they could leave one of the notorious summer residents who once rested in these parts. Dachas here had Petersburg intelligentsia, here rested at different times Saltykov-Shchedrin, Pavlov, Mendeleev with his daughter and son-in-law Blok, artist Serov, Admiral Makarov. Here was the dacha of Leonid Andreev, which became the center of attraction of writers.
Here you can not only make a funny photo in the shoes of a summer resident, but also make a wish: the compass arrows located around the shoes set the direction - you just have to take a course on a dream and stick to this path.
Sculpture "Dance"
In the composition “Dance”, created by the sculptor Alexander Taratynov based on the artistic work of Henri Matisse, people holding hands, without clothes and without embarrassment, seem to dance. Five wonderful human figures are saying, "Get off the complexes, let's dance, people are beautiful in motion."
The monument “Dance” is interesting because it recognizes the famous painting by the artist Henri Matisse. Also, the “sculptural dance of five nude bodies” is attractive because it was specially created by the sculptor in order to show how a painting can look in three-dimensional form.
You can see with your own eyes the famous “dance” in the form of a monument, finding yourself in St. Petersburg on Elagin Island in the Kirov CPC. It is possible to get there by taking buses No. 32 or No. 211 or trams No. 21 and No. 48 from the Black River metro station.

Monument to the Hare who escaped the flood
At the Ioannovsky Bridge, leading to the Peter and Paul Fortress, there is a sculpture. Its height is 58 cm. This is a monument to a hare that escaped the flood. It is made of an alloy containing aluminum, silumin and stable dural.
The sculptor of the monument Vladimir Petrovichev, and the architect - the main artist of St. Petersburg in 2005-2006 - Sergey Yakovlevich Peitchenko.
The opening of the attraction took place on May 8, 2003, in the year of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.
There are two legends about the meeting of the hare and Peter I. According to one version, the hare found salvation from flooding on the boot of Peter I. Another story says that the rabbit, fleeing from predators, jumped directly into the hands of the king. This incident saved the builders from the wrath of the king.
Sculpture "Gavryush" - the dog of happiness
On Pravda street 13 in St. Petersburg settled the dog of happiness. It is such a monument in the style of modernism called "Gavryusha" can be found in the center of the northern capital. His story is quite interesting. Its prototype was a stray dog, which the sculptor picked up on the street and took home, calling Gavrosh. After it was discovered that it was a female dog, she was renamed Gavryusha. The authors of the project Viktor Sivakov and Larisa Domracheva. It is made of metal, the height of the animal figure is 60 centimeters. She sits on a pedestal, and next to her a mailbox, where visitors throw letters addressed to Gavryush. According to legend, it brings happiness to senders. There is also a plate engraved with “Good Dog”. Opened in 1999 and again in 2007.
