The city of beer is Plzen. Backstage at Pilsner Urquell Brewery

Description:

Let's go to Plzen! This is where the famous Pilsner Urquell beer is brewed – one of the best in the world! This is it, cool and fragrant, pleasantly refreshes on a hot summer day, restores strength and lifts the mood. The aroma of hops, the taste of bitterness and a foamy hat, like a crown, crowns a gourmet creation. Dear ladies. Dear gentlemen. Let me dissuade you from the myth that beer makes you fat. It's not true, it's a lie. Beer itself is low-calorie, but contains a lot of useful substances. Beer is art. Beer is a masterpiece. It should be drunk savoring, enjoying every sip, especially Plzen beer. It's the "most-ever" thing!

And it came about by mistake) It was like this:

It's been a long time in town. But the word is unflattering beer. The taste of watery was beer. And the city didn't drink beer. Here the measures of the city were enraged once, he ordered to open a hundred beer barrels, pour this drink on the bridge. So he shamed his city and beer, everyone was ashamed for such beer. The Germans were invited to learn how to brew beer. And according to the Bavarian miracle recipe, Varity beer became new. In the local well, water was collected; hops from the blessed land of Karlovy Vary. The quality of the beer affected, the taste was delicious beer! Nope. Not Bavarian beer came out - so the connoisseurs said to each other - this, tea, better, tastier will be. This is a new beer from now on!

And since the end of the 19th century, first-class beer has been brewed in Plzna. And the Pilsner Urquell brewery is worth a visit! Once on the territory of the brewery through the triumphal arch, we get to the beer town, where we will be met by a personal bus and will take us throughout the territory. First stop is the New Brewery. Through the glass walls, you can see extensive production: a snake-shaped conveyor carries empty bottles through a “shower”, “dryer” and “watch room” – an electronic eye that checks the container for damage. Then in a smooth formation, like a squadron of soldiers, the bottles pass the “filler”, and again the electronic eye meticulously examines whether the bottle is filled correctly. And if the electronic eye nods approvingly, the iron hand puts on the bottle cap in the form of a lid and a label. It's such an interesting sight! It seems that the bottles are alive, and live their own, very organized life.

Then we take the bus to the old shop. First we are taken to the cinema on the largest elevator in the Czech Republic. Get used to it. This city is ahead of the planet in terms of the number of itself. And the beer here is the best. And the city square is the largest in the country. And the tower of the temple is the highest. And the local synagogue is the biggest. Also in Plzna was born the founder of the first medical sobering up. At one time, Plzen was the capital of the Czech Republic. Oh, how!

... in the cinema hall we watch a film about brewing “a la the fifties”: barley is splashing, hops are ripening, responsible students with joyful smiles started harvesting. In the next room, we are visually shown barley grains and invited to try. Well -- taste the grain. Pretty good. But then they let us try hops. At first, nothing like pollen tastes good. And then there is such an unimaginable bitterness that in a fairy tale to say! Fun...

Having passed huge workshops where beer is brewed, fermented and ripened, we are led to the most interesting part of the tour - the dungeon. There used to be a beer. There is such a definition of some beers as “lager”, or “lager” in German, which means “to fold”, “to lie”. The fact is that beer is divided into 2 ways of fermentation - upper and lower. "Upper" beer is prepared at room temperature for a couple of days. And the "lower" - on the contrary, at a low temperature, the fermentation process lasts at least a month. People liked this beer very much. And put it down for the winter, "reserve." And the beer lay, lay... And people around him walked, walked... And so the beer got the name "Ledge."

So, since there were no refrigerators before, and beer had to be stored in the cold, the Plenians dug a huge number of dungeons under the city, where beer barrels were put. And you and I will go through these mazes. It's cold. Terrible. But very interesting! And the highlight of our program will be trying “live” beer (with yeast and beneficial microorganisms)). Yes, straight from an old oak barrel, yes, with a tart smell of hops, and the taste of malt...heh!!

I invite you to Plzen, my dear ones. It's such a charming city! And not only a fascinating tour of the brewery, but also in the historical center will give you unusually vivid impressions and wonderful memories that you will share with your relatives, friends and friends of friends.
