Santiago

Santiago, Valparaiso and Viña del Mar: A Theatre Expedition with Captain Marat

Description:

From the Andes to the Pacific in one day. Each participant becomes a hero of the journey.

In one day we will see three completely different images of Chile: the capital Santiago at the foot of the Andes, the aristocratic garden city of Viña del Mar and the bright port Valparaiso, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

But this will not be an ordinary sightseeing tour and not a simple list of attractions. Our trip will take place in the format of the author’s theatrical expedition.

This is not a theatrical performance with actors, where tourists remain spectators. Here, each participant becomes a hero of the journey, gets his role and personal artifact, and gradually discovers the history of Chile through the route, messages, tasks, unexpected discoveries and their own decisions. At the same time, no acting skills are required: participation remains comfortable, natural and voluntary.

The expedition is led by Captain Marat - a certified Russian-language guide-interpreter in Chile, an organizer of trips to South America, the founder of the Chilewelcome tourism brand and the author of the genre "Theater Expedition".

How will the journey go?

Santiago - the beginning of the theatrical expedition

We will begin our journey in the capital of Chile, located at the foot of the Andes. Here, participants will receive their roles and personal artifacts, which will begin the general history of the theatrical expedition.

Get acquainted with the historic center of Santiago, see the presidential palace of La Moneda, the main square of the city of Plaza de Armas and the Cathedral. If the day and time allow, we will visit the indigenous fair of Chile, which presents the cultures of Mapuche, Aymara and Rapa Nui.

The Road to the Pacific

After leaving Santiago, we will go through Central Chile to the Pacific coast. Along the way, we will pass the Kurakawi Valley and the famous Casablanca wine valley. I'm going to tell you how remarkable these areas are, how nature and climate change as we approach the ocean, and why the Casablanca Valley has become one of Chile's most important wine regions. Having overcome the Coastal Cordillera, we will continue our journey to Viñe del Mar and Valparaiso.

Viña del Mar - Garden City

On the coast we will meet the elegant Viña del Mar - a city of parks, palaces, beaches and wide avenues.

We will see the famous Flower Clock, the Pacific coast, Wulf Castle and the only real moai brought from Easter Island to mainland Chile.

Next, we will dine at one of the coast restaurants of your choice. Lunch is paid separately.

Valparaiso - the culmination of history

Then we head to the legendary Valparaiso, an ancient port built on 45 hills above the Pacific Ocean.

We will see numerous sea lions living here in their natural habitat rather than in the zoo. This is one of the brightest and most memorable encounters during our trip.

We will get acquainted with the port part of Valparaiso and Sotomayor Square, climb one of the historical funiculars and walk along the hills of Alegre and Concepcion. We are waiting for colorful houses, ancient stairs, panoramic platforms, street art and famous murals.

In Valparaiso, the individual roles, artifacts and events of the expedition will form a single story. And how our journey will end, we will not disclose in advance: a real theatrical expedition should keep a secret until the very end.
