Redpath Sugar Museum

95 Queens Quay East, Toronto, ON, Canada

About the company:

The Redpath Sugar Museum is located east of downtown Toronto, at the foot of Jarvis Street, on Royal Promenade.

The complex was opened in 1958, and was originally intended only for the storage and processing of raw materials for the manufacture of sugar. The complex consists of an eight-storey building, a five-storey building and a smokestack. The museum itself is located in a five-storey building, a little away from production.

The museum began its work in 1979, and it houses exhibits characterizing sugar production, from the Middle Ages to modernity. There are pieces of refinade made by different methods, equipment for the production of sugar and processing of raw materials, as well as the hall of fame of outstanding workers of the complex. The museum is a member of the Canadian Association of Museums.
