What destinations have become the most popular among tourists for the New Year?
Tourism market participants report that Russia, Abkhazia. Turkey. Tanzania became the most popular destinations among organized tourists for the New Year holidays.
The most popular tours in Russia for the New Year are 65-70% of sales. Then Abkhazia – 15%, Turkey – 10%, Tanzania – 8%, Maldives – 7%, Cuba and the UAE – 5% each.
At the same time, the number of tours to Turkey for the New Year decreased by 15% compared to the same period a year earlier. Turkey took second place in the preferences of Russians with a share of 32%. On the third is the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar (5%). Tourists also showed a small interest in Cuba (2%), the UAE, Egypt, Abkhazia and the Maldives (all - 1% each).
In 2019, the preferences of tourists for the New Year were different – Thailand (21%), the UAE (17%), Turkey (16%), India (10%), Vietnam (6%).
The average check for New Year’s holidays in 2021 decreased to 91 thousand rubles (in 2019 it was 134 thousand). Up to 50 thousand rubles fell the average check for rest in Russia.
Tourist services analyze sales of tours for the New Year holidays - 12% of tourists intend to celebrate the New Year on the island of Zanzibar.
“Under normal circumstances, this resort rarely accounts for more than 1% of sales, but in the face of restrictions in 2020, Zanzibar was the most budget-friendly of the available destinations for a winter beach holiday.”
Experts reported on the cheapest and most expensive tours that Russians bought.
The cheapest trip abroad was a trip to Alanya for 7 days to a hotel 3* with all-inclusive meals for 21.5 thousand rubles.
The most budget trip in Russia was a four-night tour YaltaHotel 3*, without food, for 14.7 thousand rubles.
Experts say that the most expensive foreign tour was a trip to the Maldives for 2.3 million rubles - a company of four people will fly for 12 nights to a 5* hotel with an all-inclusive food system. In Russia, the most expensive trip cost 224.3 thousand rubles - three tourists will fly for 5 days to the 4* hotel in Krasnaya Polyana.
Another expensive New Year tour to Zanzibar cost travelers almost 500 thousand rubles - the family will spend 12 nights in the hotel 3 * full board.
Budget tour to the island bought a traveler from St. Petersburg. The amount of 81.4 thousand included accommodation in the hotel 2* with breakfast, flight in both directions, insurance, transfer.
