The Minister of resorts and tourism of the Republic of Crimea called the competitive advantage of the region

The Minister of resorts and tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko said that the average load of hotels in the Crimea in September-October increased by 40%.

Russians are actively booking holidays in the Crimea, in September-October, the loading of accommodation facilities increased by 40-50% compared to the same period in 2019.

We and two other regions, probably, have a competitive advantage – a Russian wants to relax at least once at sea during his vacation. We can certainly provide this opportunity. Speaking of figures, July was plus or minus last year, which was the most successful in the entire post-Soviet period. August - plus 15% compared to last year, September - plus 40%, October - about 40-50%. “We are witnessing an unprecedented demand for accommodation facilities,” he said at the online student congress “Developing Tourism – Developing Russia.”

According to Volchenko, the indicators of the tourist season at the end of the year can be equalized. It is probably too early to talk about the results, because we understand that the economy is still affected by restrictions and additional preventive measures, which the accommodation facilities had to comply with without fail. We think that plus or minus we will come to the results of last year. We will not be ahead of events, we will talk about this in January.”

The head of the Ministry of Tourism of Crimea noted that in 2020 there is a significant increase in the number of individual tourists and car travelers, as well as “... a high demand for recreation in the luxury segment.” This year, Crimea received tourists who previously did not reach the peninsula and did not rest in Russia at all.

The full holiday season for Russians on the peninsula began on July 1, after almost three months of a ban on receiving guests in hotels and sanatoriums. From the beginning of the year to the end of September, 5 million people visited the region.
