The government may allow to transfer tours in Russia, purchased under the cashback program
The press service of the Federal Agency for Tourism informs: tourists may be allowed to transfer the travel bought on cashback in Russia, if in the region where the trip is planned, a high-alert mode or emergency will be introduced.
On the official portal of the government, a draft resolution is posted for discussion, which makes appropriate changes to the rules for granting in 2020 from the federal budget a subsidy to the National Payment Card System joint-stock company to stimulate affordable domestic tourist trips through reimbursement of part of the cost of paid tourist services.
In paragraph 3 of the current version of the rules, the term for the provision of tourist services (beginning and ending) comes until January 10, 2021. It is proposed to add a paragraph:
In case of introduction of the regime of high readiness or emergency situation on the territory of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation on which the tourist service is provided or on the territory of which the tourist resides, the term of provision of the tourist service paid during the payment period may be postponed to a later date determined additionally by agreement between the tourist and the legal entity (individual entrepreneur) that formed the tourist service, but not later than December 31, 2021.
The rules revise the mechanism of transferring tours with cashback in the event that the region imposes restrictions, and “... the cashback accrued to the tourist will be retained.”
The Committee for the Development of Tourism of St. Petersburg addressed the department with a repeated initiative to make such changes.
The cashback program for tours around the Russian Federation was implemented by Rosturizm to support domestic tourism affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The first stage of the sale took place on August 21 - 28, the second - October 15 - December 5.
The action increased interest in traveling around Russia in the off-season.
