Forecast of the Association of tour operators of the Russian Federation: how many Russians will travel in 2021?
Tour operators expect that in 2021 about 40% of Russians will go on trips, despite the epidemiological situation.
This was stated by the Executive Director of the Association of tour operators of Russia (ATOR) Maya Lomidze at the online conference “Rest during the epidemic”. Tourist results of 2020" December 23.
“In a pessimistic scenario where the number of cases does not decrease, vaccination will not be very effective, countries will continue to restrict entry and exit, as well as within regions, the sad situation will remain. However, even in the worst case scenario, the number of people who want to go somewhere to change the picture will be at least 40%. These are people who are willing to go anywhere under any circumstances.”
Maya Lomidze noted that in such an epidemiological situation, priority will be given to ensuring safety.
According to Lomidze, it will be important to be sure that tourists will be helped in case of illness on vacation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 17 at a large press conference pointed to the importance of developing domestic directions in the country.
