The Governor of the region Vladimir Sipyagin said that at the end of the year, even taking into account the increase in the flow in the pre-New Year days, the region lost about 50% of tourists, but I am sure that in the near future the region expects a breakthrough in the tourism sector.

We have launched 21 new tourist routes in the region. Now we are forming a new tourism program taking into account the features of those territories that we will actively develop. We are actively developing Gorokhovets and Suzdal.

Vladimir Sipyagin noted that a list of objects that require reconstruction and restoration has been formed.

The Governor noted that "200 hotel rooms" in Gorokhovets is very small. According to V. Sipyagin, it is planned to work with investors who, on the terms of co-financing from the federal center and the regional budget, will increase the number fund.
In Suzdal there is enough room stock, but it is impossible to call all hotels comfortable.

As part of the 1000th anniversary of Suzdal in 2024, programs are planned to turn the city into a tourist gem, convenient to visit from all nearby territories. The region could become a center of attraction for the more than 25 million Russians who live in its 200-kilometer zone. The plans are to make Suzdal a city for a comfortable holiday weekend.

Vladimir Sipyagin: We have a lot of these points of attraction – Vladimir, Yuriev-Polish, Alexandrov. Unfortunately, there is no focus on other small towns in the region, except Suzdal, Gorokhovets and Vladimir. We plan to change the situation, and we will be helped by 21 new tourist routes.”

The governor of the region called industrial tourism a promising direction of the tourism industry. “We already have enterprises that are successfully working in this direction. For example, "Gusevsky Crystal Plant named after Maltsov", Pokrovsky jewelry factory "Golden Domes", the Center for Traditional Miniature Workshop ...".

In 2021, the forum "Industrial tourism of Russia" will be held.
