From June 1, Russia will begin lifting restrictions for domestic tourism
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that from June 1, the work of tourist facilities in Russia will be restored.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that 23 regions are ready to ease restrictions. At stage 1, sanatoriums with a medical license will open, but restrictions on foreign travel will remain due to the risk of the second wave of the coronavirus COVID-19.
The priority is the safe and controlled launch of domestic tourism in the first half of the summer. From June 1, the government will systematically and carefully begin to remove restrictions, Chernyshenko said on May 25.
The Deputy Prime Minister urged the regional authorities and business to prepare the infrastructure for the opening of the tourist season, taking into account sanitary rules.
Recommendations for the opening of the tourism industry, prepared by Rospotrebnadzor and Rosturizm, will be published before June 1.
According to Chernyshenko, now there are no prerequisites for lifting restrictions on travel abroad. Such restrictions have been imposed by all countries of the world, and the World Health Organization does not recommend their removal. We understand that our citizens need rest, and we are all waiting for the moment when we will be able to travel.
Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mishustin asked Russians not to hurry to plan foreign trips. According to him, now it is necessary to eliminate the risk of the spread of coronavirus and spend a vacation in the country.
