From January 10, when entering Cuba, tourists must present a certificate of absence of COVID-19
Russians for a trip Cuba From January 10, you need a certificate with a negative PCR test for coronavirus. This was announced by tourism adviser to the Embassy of Cuba in Russia Juan Carlos Escalona Peliser.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health of Cuba tightened the rules for the entry of foreign citizens due to the deterioration of the epidemiological situation in the world and the increase in the number of coronavirus infections among tourists arriving in Cuba.
Peliser noted that after recommending that Russians do covid tests before departure, the number of coronavirus patients on Cayo Coco has decreased. We have the experience of the first flights from Moscow to Cayo Coco, when we identified on average more than 15 Russian tourists with COVID-19 on each flight. There are now 2 to 4 covid travelers arriving at Cayo Coco. Therefore, the new requirement is mainly related to the arrival of passengers from the United States, Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.”
If a tourist has a coronavirus when passing a PCR test on arrival, then he will be hospitalized. If the covid test is positive, but there are no symptoms, the traveler goes to the observatory.
Every person arriving in Cuba, regardless of their health condition, can take an additional coronavirus test at their own expense. It is not necessary to wait for the expiration of the five-day quarantine.
Russia opened flights to Cuba on October 15, but while flights are operated only to the airport of the island of Cayo Coco, flights to Havana are impossible. Everyone entering on arrival, the temperature is measured and a PCR test for coronavirus is performed, its result is available in a day.
The traveler must have COVID-19 treatment coverage, and if not, the traveler will have to purchase Cuban health insurance for $30.
