How much will it cost to spend one day in Kaluga, Russia’s New Year’s capital?
A day Kaluga, which is the New Year’s capital of Russia in 2021, can cost a tourist 4542 rubles, which is 1.2% lower than a year ago. This is reported by the Kaluga Region Department of the Central Federal District of the Bank of Russia.
The main events of the New Year capital will be held on the streets of Kaluga: fire shows, fairs, cultural, gastronomic festivals.
Specialists of the Kaluga branch of the Bank of Russia, based on Rosstat data, found out how the “tourism index” in the city changed over the year.
When calculating the cost of a tourist day, lunch, dinner, a light snack between them were taken into account, since breakfast is usually included in the price of a hotel room. Four trips by public transport, a visit to the theater and a museum were taken into account.
The average price of a hotel room per person is 1222 rubles, 6.8% lower than in 2019. For the calculation, 30 hotels of different categories were used.
The cost of travel in Kaluga by city bus and taxi is 22 rubles.
The average price of lunch in the dining room or cafe is 226 rubles, dinner in the restaurant is 2224 rubles. This is 4.6% and 1.7% more expensive than a year ago. The cost of a snack (hamburger) is 70 rubles (a decrease of 0.4%). Inflation on food for tourists is lower than the food inflation in the Kaluga region as a whole, which amounted to 6.1%.
Average prices for entrance to the museums of Kaluga - from 150 to 300 rubles. The ticket to the Kaluga Regional Drama Theater for the year fell by 1.4%.
Celebrations within the project "Kaluga - New Year's capital of Russia 2021" are held in the city from December 12 to January 9. The main New Year events will take place in eight city venues. The city is decorated in the style of retrofuturism with a reference to the space achievements of the USSR.
A network of tourist information points is organized in Kaluga: the visit center of the TIC "Kaluga Territory" in the Gostiny Dvor, the tourist pavilion on the Theater Square, tourist points in the Central cinema and the Innovation Cultural Center.
