Thailand and Tunisia ease entry conditions for international travellers

Government Thailand Since April, the period of mandatory stay in quarantine for citizens vaccinated against coronavirus has been reduced from 14 to 7 days.

Health Minister Anutin Charnvirankul said the quarantine was reduced for foreigners “who have been vaccinated for at least 14 days and no more than three months before arriving in Thailand.”

Travellers will still be required to test negative for COVID-19 at least 72 hours before their arrival in Thailand.

Tourists who have not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19, but have the necessary certificates and certificates of absence of coronavirus, will be quarantined for 10 days instead of the current 14 days.

In Tunisia From 8 to 28 March 2021, everyone entering the country must submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test 72 hours before arrival, pass an express test at the point of arrival and go to self-isolation for 48 hours in a pre-booked hotel (previously 7 days).

After the quarantine is completed, tourists will need to pass a second PCR covid test at their own expense, and in case of a negative result, they will be allowed to move freely around the country.

The announced protocol also applies to tourists vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The ban on movement between Tunisian regions has been lifted, except in areas where infections have increased. The curfew will be valid from 22.00 to 05.00.

Cafes and restaurants can work until 20.00. After 20:00, hotels are only allowed to serve their customers. In hotels, it is allowed to hold various events with an occupancy rate of no more than 50% and compliance with all anticove protocols provided for tourist industry facilities.

Minister of Tourism and Crafts of Tunisia Habib Ammar believes that the announced measures will stimulate the start of preparations for the summer season, and will give grounds to foreign tour operators to include Tunisia in the list of routes of the summer season 2021.
