Komsomolskaya str., 46, Kostroma, Kostroma region, Russian Federation 24 m SV
Description:
The Epiphany-Anastasiin Monastery is one of the ancient Orthodox monasteries of Russia. It was built in the first half of the 15th century. It is noteworthy that the founder of the monastery was a relative and follower of Sergius of Radonezh - Nikita Kostroma.
Many pilgrims seek to enter the monastery primarily for the sake of meeting with one of the church relics of the Romanovs - the Miracle Icon of the Mother of God.
Initially, the monastery was male, but now it is female. It is known that there is a shelter for girls left without parental care.
For visitors, there are strict requirements for appearance.
The heart of the monastery is the majestic snow-white Epiphany Cathedral, crowned with golden domes. Also especially pleasing to the eye is a tall bell tower with a clock.
You can get to the monastery by personal car or public transport to the stops "Pyatnitskaya" or "Kitchen Factory".
