You will learn the history of the creation of the chocolate brand "Kaye", hear the story of its creator - Francois-Louis Cayet, who was 23 years old at that time. Inspired by a trip to Northern Italy and an acquaintance with Italian chocolatiers, he decided to devote his life to creating delicious chocolate.
He first tasted the popular drink in Turin, and then spent four years learning how to make it. He was the first chocolatier to start producing cocoa products at home.
Returning from Italy, François-Louis opened Switzerland’s first chocolate shop near Vevey. His main achievement was the development of a recipe for chocolate mass for the production of chocolate bars by casting, because for many centuries chocolate existed only in liquid form.
Then his daughter Fanny and her husband Daniel Peter continued his work and built a chocolate factory in the town of Brock in 1898. They used fresh milk from cows grazing in the local meadows and drinking the purest water from the local mountain rivers, which led to a significant improvement in the properties and taste of their milk chocolate, as a result of which, the products of the House of Kaye are still in great demand.
At the end of the visit, you will find another free tasting of various chocolate products produced at the Gailler factory. Tasting time and the amount of chocolate is unlimited!
