Copenhagen

"At first there was yeast..." Tasting tour to Karlsberg Brewery

Description:

Today, Copenhagen would not be so beautiful if it were not for the Jacobsen family, who had a huge influence on the art, culture and decoration of the city.

Successful Danish business began in the early 19th century, when enterprising brewer Jacob Jacobsen created a small brewery, which was distinguished by the use of modern techniques and constant research and experimentation to achieve the best result.

The business of the master is still flourishing and, moreover, is considered a national treasure. The dynasty of Danish brewers tried for the fatherland to glory - they helped reconstruct the royal castle, built a botanical garden in the capital, Glypotec - an ancient collection of works of art, and much more, even the famous Mermaid - a gift of Jacobsen to the city.

On the territory of the old brewery, there are also many unique buildings and each with its history demonstrates that the Jacobsen family considered the neighborhood of the brewery as important as the ability to brew only the best beer.

Today, the brewery itself is a landmark. It, like a museum, you can walk on your own or with a tour: look into the cellars with intact bottles, see pre-war (with swastikas) bottle labels, determine the most pleasant smell and, accordingly, the most suitable beer in the aroma room created by designers.

For visitors there is a shop and a bar where you can exchange the vouchers received at the entrance for beer.
