Survey results: in which region of Russia live the most friendly residents?
The most friendly Russians live in the Altai region. Such data follow from the rating of the social network “Classmates” for 2020.
The top was based on comments and photos of users, their reaction to posts for 2020.
The top 10 positive areas included: Samara region, Republic of Tatarstan, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Saratov, Sverdlovsk regions.
The basis for studying the tone of comments included machine learning algorithms that determined the emotional coloring of user statements. In total, the social network has 43 million active users throughout Russia.
The top with the most hostile users was headed by Primorsky and Khabarovsk Krai, but during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, they lost the lead to Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg. Experts believe that this is due to the discussion of sanitary and restrictive measures, which were strict for residents of the spirit of the capitals.
By the end of the year, Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territory began to lead again. Next place in the ranking was taken by residents of Moscow and the region, St. Petersburg.
In the fourth quarter of 2020, the number of negative reactions decreased markedly in all regions - this may be due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which became the most discussed topic of the year.
