What type of tourism does the Russian government consider promising?
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the government considers the development of ecotourism in our country one of the most promising areas.
In a video address at the III International Conference "Natural Tourism: Global Challenges and Prospects of Russia" Mishustin said: "... our country has unique conditions." More than thirteen percent of the territory - specially protected, reserves, national parks. No country possesses such wealth.”
According to the Prime Minister, the pride of Russia is the most beautiful places with amazing pristine nature, UNESCO natural heritage sites – the volcanoes of Kamchatka and the forests of Karelia, the Altai and the Caucasus, the Ural and Siberian rivers, the Far East, the Black Sea coast.
“Our task is to attract the interest of tourists. To make this type of recreation exciting, safe, comfortable and affordable. To preserve the richness of nature, to form a responsible attitude towards the environment among people.”
According to experts, before the spread of coronavirus infection, annual growth in the segment of the global tourism industry was more than 20%.
The Prime Minister is confident that for the development of ecotourism, it is necessary to attract investment in the industry, create a modern infrastructure, train professional personnel, form clear rules and standards for industry activities.
