Public chamber asks government to support development of industrial tourism
The Civic Chamber sent its proposals to the government on the development of industrial tourism in the Russian Federation, including the opening of a roadmap for enterprises that will be able to accept travelers.
This information was announced on September 10 by Artem Kiryanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Commission for the Examination of Publicly Significant Bills and Other Legal Initiatives of the Public Chamber.
We sent letters to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova, in which we propose to develop a draft all-Russian roadmap for scientific and industrial enterprises ready to participate in the program for the development of domestic and inbound tourism, as well as to form an interdepartmental working group with the participation of business representatives and experts.
According to A. Kiryanov, representatives of Rossilber, a Bashkir enterprise of innovative technologies, applied for assistance in the development of industrial tourism.
“Today, metallurgical and machine-building plants are engaged in attracting tourists on their own. This is fundamentally wrong. If we take foreign examples, the opening of excursions to the factories of Bentley, Ferrari, Airbus aircraft factory and other industrial giants caused a real tourism boom <...> our concern has its own laboratories, the visit of which is extremely interesting for university graduates and potential business partners from the field of knowledge-intensive industries. Before the pandemic, they were carried out on a permanent basis ..., said Ilshat Khafizov, Executive Director of ZIT Rossilber.
According to I. Khafizov, the problem is that tourists lack information:
“Guests of the regions do not even know that certain enterprises are open to visit. They should be included in tourist maps and guidebooks. This is serious work that should be done regularly and together with the authorities. Industrial and industrial tourism can restore the prestige of the working and engineering professions.”
