The press service of the regional government reports that the Irkutsk region intends to develop wedding tourism on the coast of Lake Baikal.
Head of the regional tourism agency Ekaterina Slivina: “The development of tourism is one of the priorities of the regional government <...> Now the task of representatives of the wedding and tourism business with the support of the authorities is to join forces and form wedding tours available in different price categories. There should be an interesting project that attracts tourists.”
You can register a marriage on the shore of Baikal in the village of Listvyanka, Irkutsk district, in Baikalsk, Olkhonsky district. The application can be submitted through the website of public services.
In 2019, more than 180 marriages were registered in Listvyanka, in 2020 - more than 50 marriages. But there were couples from Italy, Latvia, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tomsk, Vladivostok, other countries and cities, says Inga Trofimova, temporarily serving as head of the registry office of the region.
