In the Arkhangelsk region earned the first airport-museum in Russia
In the village of Lopshenga (Arkhangelsk region) opened the first building of the operating airport in Russia, - it earned a museum and ethnographic complex.
The press service of the national park "Kenozersky", on the territory of which the village is located, the museum "Air piers of the White Sea" tells about the history of small aviation in the North.
“The museum became a portal in the 70s of the last century. In the past, guests are immersed in furniture, interior items and other details. There are thematic areas: cash register, buffet, corner of forgotten things. In the section "mother and child room" you can hear audio recordings of fairy tales, by phone in a small "post office" - to overhear the conversations sounded in the walls of the airport. Separate sections cover aircraft, airport and air ambulance personnel.”
The airport is working, and performs the main function: local residents are waiting for a flight. Small aviation in the village has been developing since 1937, the airport has been open since the 70s. It is impossible to get to the village from the regional center by land, it is possible only by plane, which performs 2-3 flights a week. The population of Loshpenga in winter is 200 people, in summer more than twice.
It took a year and a half to repair the building and create the exposition. The project brought together builders, restorers, designers, researchers, aviators. In the future, it is planned to install the An-2 aircraft for eternal parking.
