Halong is a city near the eponymous bay in northern Vietnam, known for its fantastic karst relief and seascapes. The history of the region is intertwined with seafaring, fishing traditions and trade routes, and today the city lives in the rhythm of tourists and locals, creating a friendly and slightly mysterious atmosphere where each sunset feels like a picture of the artist.
Among the man-made objects, first of all, an artificial beach Bai Chay with an embankment, a cafe and walking areas is a convenient place to start exploring the city. Halong has berths, observation decks, tourist infrastructure and urban development, providing comfortable stops between sea walks. From here depart special buses and ferries that take tourists to neighboring islands and to bizarre coves.
The natural sights of the bay amaze the imagination: Halong Bay itself with thousands of limestone islands and rocks, grottoes and caves - Sung Sot and Han Sung Sot, Surprise Cave, Rai Thien Duong Cave, Stone Pillars Grotto (Hang Dou Go). The islands of Bo Nau, Castaway and Tuan, as well as Bai Tu Mountain with castle silhouettes, create unique views, golden beaches and secluded coves for swimming and photos.
On our site you can see all these attractions on an interactive map: marked caves, islands, beaches and observation points, there are brief descriptions and photos. Build a convenient route right on the map, calculate the sequence of visits and travel time – this helps to plan both a day walk along the bay and a longer route around the islands.
You can explore Halong yourself: walk along the embankment, take a boat and get into your favorite grottoes or have a picnic on a secluded beach. The alternative is to book excursions with local guides: professionals will tell the legends of combat pelicans and hidden halls of caves, show secret observation points and deepen the knowledge of the geology of the bay and the history of the region.
Come to Halong to see one of the most picturesque corners of Southeast Asia, breathe in the sea air and discover new places. Plan the route, choose the attractions and go to meet the impressions – Halong is waiting for those who want to know what to see and where to go.
