“Little Golden Ring of Altai” is a tourist route designed to get acquainted with a unique region.

The route begins in bijskeIt is one of the oldest cities of Altai, founded in 1709, by decree of Peter I, as a Cossack fortress at the confluence of rivers. bai and Katuni. It is here that the Ob River is born, which flows into the distant Kara Sea.

Biysk has its own "Bronze Horseman", it is also called the Siberian - it is a monument to Emperor Peter I, which was installed in 2010 in the Garkavoy Park.

Another interesting urban sculpture is dedicated to V. I. Lenin - The leader of the world proletariat is depicted in a hat-ushanka (only in Russia there are three similar monuments, similar ones installed in Rybinsk and Minusinsk).

 

About 60 km from Biysk there is a natural monument to Lake Swan (or Svetloye) - in winter it does not freeze, and swans-clikuns fly to it for wintering, peregrines, balabans, waders, magpie, steppe luna were also seen.

The village of Srotki and the All-Russian Memorial Museum-Reserve of V.M. Shukshin is the next stop on the route (37 km from Biysk). In this village was born the great Russian writer and actor V.M. Shukshin.

On Mount Picket near Srotkov, a monument to Vasily Makarovich is installed.

 

Then we go to the "Turquoise Katun" - Special Economic Zone of tourist and recreational type (155 km from Biysk, 45 km from Gorno-Altaisk).

A year-round family recreation center, which provides literally everything: you can live in a hotel, cottage, guest house, park hotel; replenish your strength in the dining room or in one of three restaurants.

Here are created wonderful conditions for a quiet or active holiday, who likes what more: horseback riding, ATV riding, bicycles, honey tasting on apiaries, fishing, hiking, rafting on the apiaries. Katunyparagliding and hang gliding, in winter - mountain skiing.

Not far from here. Tavdin caves - a popular complex of caves in the Altai Mountains, with which many legends and legends are associated - for example, about the gold of Kolchak, which can be hidden here or about the riches of Old Believers-hidden people hiding their riches there.

Let's go. lake Aya (Ai) - The water temperature in summer there reaches comfortable + 20 C, you can swim, ride a boat or catamaran. For the night we book a place at the campground or in the hotel.

One of the local attractions is the rock Damn finger..

We continue the journey in the village of Altai (78 km from Gorno-Altaisk). Mountains protect it from cold winds, and form a unique microclimate - in the village people grow unusual plums, peaches, apricots, pears, grapes. For visitors, the arboretum "Flowering Valley" is open - you can stock up on exotic plants and medicinal herbs.

 

Belokurikha resort town - the last point of the route (65 km from Biysk). One of the most authoritative climatic and thermal resorts in our country.

In Belokurikha, you can swim in the rain-containing waters, use the healing mud from local salt lakes, inhale the invigorating mountain air.

Fans of outdoor activities conquer tourist routes: Church, Round, Rock of confessions, Turtle, Two Brothers, Gate of Love. In winter, the resort is available for ski lovers.

 

The route is closed: it is time to return to the starting point of the trip - to the city of Biysk. Or go for new impressions on the "Big Golden Ring of Altai". But that's another story!
