Rest after the coronavirus: environmental tourism

Russia can be called an ideal country for the development of various tourist destinations.

The presence of different climatic zones - from subtropical to arctic, low population in certain areas, a variety of nature and landscapes - all this is a real paradise for lovers of ecotourism.

What does "ecological tourism" mean?

Environmental tourism has always existed. Almost all of us visited nature reserves or went hiking to untouched corners of nature.

Ecotourism, as a phenomenon, was formed in the 80s of the last century, as a result of interest in environmental problems, the growing popularity of environmental movements.

International environmental organizations have developed a number of rules for a novice ecotourist, here are the main ones:

  • Do not pollute the visited places, leave everything in its original, natural form.
  • Respect local customs and culture of the region.
  • Motivate local residents to participate in ecotourism, in order to create an economic incentive for nature conservation.

Where to stay

The main issues of ecotourism are accommodation and stay of travelers. It must be solved so that the invasion of the unique natural environment is minimal.

With the development of ecotourism in Russia, the corresponding infrastructure is naturally developing, and it is now easy to get the service of the required level, it is available.

Depending on the region visited, the tourist can decide on the appropriate option:

  • Glamping is a mobile light house, a tent, a collapsible residential structure of a diverse design, equipped with full-fledged furniture, sleeping utensils, a water supply system, a toilet, a bathroom.
  • Camping is a light house, a house on wheels, a tent camp.
  • Turbaza is a specialized stationary structure for accommodation of tourists, with the organization of stay and leisure.
  • Tourist house from a wooden log house, with a full set of communications - an environmentally friendly and practical solution.
  • Tourist cottages - full-fledged houses of increased comfort from environmentally friendly materials, organically fit into the environment.

Popular directions of ecological tourism

In the current conditions, when interstate communication is almost closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is an increase in the popularity of domestic tourism in Russia.

A wide variety of destinations can satisfy the taste of the most demanding traveler. For ecotourists, there are many interesting options for traveling through the protected areas of our vast country.

ural

Ecotourism in the Urals is an immersion in the beauty of untouched nature. Special permission is required to visit some reserves.

The most famous reserves: Taganay National Park, Zyuratkul National Park, Deer Creeks Natural Park, Arkaim Historical and Cultural Reserve and others.

In national and natural parks, hiking, overnight stays in tents, rafting tourism along rivers are in demand.

For example, a popular route is a two-day rafting tour along the Akchim and Visher rivers, with a visit to the most beautiful rock - the Pisanye stone.

Siberia

Going on an ecological tour in the depths of Siberia, the traveler gets a unique opportunity to immerse himself in the historical cultural environment of the indigenous Siberian peoples, get acquainted with local folklore, mythology, customs and rituals.

Entrepreneurs are intensively developing this “highlight” of the region. A good example is yurt complexes for ecotourists in Tuva, Buryatia, Khakassia, Altai.

Karelia

Karelia is a "country" of dense pristine forests, and thousands of fascinating lakes, small and large, the largest of which are considered to be Ladoga and Onega. Picturesque waterfalls, the remains of long extinct volcanoes, unique monuments of wooden architecture.

The existing monasteries of Solovki, Kizhey and Valaam are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Lists. Almost the entire territory of Karelia is under state protection.

Kaliningrad region

In the Kaliningrad region, rural tourism is successfully developing - an offshoot of ecological tourism.

People tired of gassy dusty megacities, happy to come to remove the "urban stress" in the bosom of nature. Accommodation in a real farm, fishing, hunting, cycling, riding horses, collecting mushrooms and berries in the forest - this is not a complete list of what can help an urban resident relax and rejuvenate his soul.

Soulful evening conversations at the campfire, overworking guitar strings, and then a sound sleep on the haywalk - an excellent therapy that allows you to feel a surge of new strength.

Famous reserves of the Kaliningrad region: National Park "Curonian Spit", Natural Park "Vishtynetsky", state natural reserves "Dune", "Gromovsky", "Filino", "Dunaevskoye".

Republic of Bashkortostan

Bashkiria is a land of windy steppes and mountains, fast rivers and deep lakes, here in summer it is hot and sunny, and in winter you can ski.

There are ski resorts and yurt complexes, and in the unique natural park "Bashkiria" guests are greeted as relatives, and escorted on excursions along ecological trails, ride horses and show unique caves.

All these regions are only a small part of the opportunities that can be available to Russians - lovers of affordable and safe recreation in nature.
