Tour Operators Association: When can I plan holidays?
Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, gave several tips on planning a holiday in a pandemic.
She urged to pay attention to which regions are open and under what conditions they receive people. Find out what works in an open area.
“Because not all hotels open at once. In full volume, the summer season inside the country is likely to swing in the second half of June. So far, most regions are not sufficiently prepared to receive tourists.”
According to Lomidze, you can relax in sanatoriums in Krasnodar, Stavropol and Altai regions, in St. Petersburg.
She noted that soon the situation will change, and urged to follow the emerging information to learn about the opening of the regions, or find out information closer to departure.
The peak tourist season, according to the expert, will come in July. She also stressed that the reservation systems still have a reservation about the possible postponement or change of the tour. Lomidze noted that in the place of tourists, she would carefully book dates until July 1 due to the fact that it is unclear how the situation will develop.
