The Association of Tour Operators of Russia highlighted summer trends and told about the prices for rest
According to Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of ATOR, the cost of rest this summer season will be at the level of last year. In the domestic market, analysts identified three unusual trends.
This June, the real demand for vacations was at least 10 times less than in the same period last year, but even now companies are seeing an increase in the number of bookings from week to week.
“At present, the real demand for recreation does not exceed supply. Prices are very good for July and August. We don’t expect prices to rise this summer.
The first trend of the current season is that residents of Russian regions have become more likely to book accommodation facilities in their region. Demand has increased for mini-hotels, guest houses, tourist centers, etc.
This trend is most clearly manifested now in the Moscow and Leningrad regions, as well as in those regions where there are large reservoirs of local importance. First of all, these are regions and republics where the Volga, Oka flow, there are large lakes, said Maya Lomidze.
Prices for such “intraregional rest” start from 1500-2000 rubles per day for a room with breakfast. In the Moscow region higher due to higher demand.
Because of a certain fear of people going far from their place of residence, the regions have a chance to demonstrate an even higher load than before.
The second trend is the greater variety of routes offered at affordable prices this summer. The high concentration of tourists on the Black Sea coast (in previous years it was 20-25% of the total domestic tourist flow in the summer) will decrease this season.
Tour operators launched affordable charters to new regions: Altai, Buryatia, Kaliningrad, Khakassia.
The third difficult trend is that the “gray” segment of the tourism industry, which is not controlled by Rospotrebnadzor, may now benefit: many people will be more willing to go to the private sector, firstly because of prices, and secondly because there is no need for any certificates.
The grey market should be monitored by regulators.
