Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announces "radical decisions" - removal of most restrictions until July
Mayor Moscow Sergei Sobyanin in an interview with TV channel “Russia 24” said that “the maximum restrictions in the capital can be removed before the beginning of July”.
On June 8, he intends to discuss the timetable for lifting quarantine measures.
Sanitary restrictions, restrictions on the self-preservation of people, they will remain, I think, for many months. But to return to a normal full-fledged life, including the work of restaurants, cafes, hotels, the entire tourist business, weddings and so on, all this must be returned step by step.
The mayor noted that it is too early to open sports facilities for citizens: “Let’s go through the stages on which we have already made decisions”, but he added that before the opening of sports clubs “is not quite far”.
Asked how virologists and epidemiologists react to the opening of the urban economy, the mayor suggested that “We are coming out smoothly, avoiding big bursts.” And we see this indirectly in the rates of detection, hospitalization.”
“It was absolutely possible to achieve that, thanks to the weather conditions, there was no overcrowding of parks, squares, streets. This ensures that we can move forward without the risk of new diseases.”
C. Sobyanin notes that this week in the capital allowed to work almost all trade enterprises, and some of the enterprises in the field of household services: “... opened 55% of all trading enterprises.” The rest are actively preparing for the opening.”
