Tourist season in St. Petersburg: prospects are being studied

Prospects for the resumption of the tourist season "are being studied," A. Beglov, the governor of the Northern Capital, said at a meeting of the State Council's working group on countering the spread of the coronavirus.

According to him, the season will be held on condition of improvement of the epidemic situation, and we are talking only about domestic tourism.

Head of the Tourism Committee St. Petersburg Former deputy head Sergei Korneev, in turn, said that the season will be open "as soon as the epidemiological situation allows."

He noted that the Committee on Tourism has already developed a roadmap for the phased opening of urban cultural objects.

Such assurances "and that bread" against the background of previous statements of officials of St. Petersburg. This week, the public was literally stunned by the statement of the head of the local Rospotrebnadzor Natalia Bashketova that the tourist season in St. Petersburg in the summer will not be, and in Russia it should not be launched: “The city is still categorically not ready to lift restrictions ... I think there will be no tourist season in St. Petersburg this year. The next package, which will be announced before June 14, will not apply to restaurants, parks or shopping malls.

Earlier, the director of the Institute for Globalization Problems, economist Mikhail Delyagin, said that “coronaism” has settled in the heads of some officials, and measures to combat the virus are killing the economy.
