Wine of the Crimea: tours, tastings, acquaintance
There is nothing better than old wine and old friendship.
English proverb
Acquaintance with the beautiful peninsula is unthinkable without wine tastings: winemaking in the Crimea has existed for more than two thousand years.
In ancient times, the Greeks and Genoese grew grapes on the sunny Crimean slopes, and many varieties of these berries were inherited by us: they are found only on the peninsula. The first distillery appeared in the ancient Chersonese.
Prince Grigory Alexandrovich Potemkin-Tavrichie took measures to plant vineyards of foothill areas.
Prince Mikhail Vorontsov in the XIX century contributed to the industrial production of wine: he purchased vines in European countries, and planted them in the vineyards of Massandra, Alupka, Gurzuf.
True connoisseurs of wine know that this drink does not like travel, in other words: it will be best and tastier where it is produced.
Wine tourism, or enotourism, is a relatively new tourism industry, the process of tasting and buying wine directly from the winery.
Followers of enotourism come to wineries and certain farms specifically to try novelties, and buy a valuable specimen for their collection.
Massandra.
The oldest winery of the peninsula is located on the southern coast of the Crimea. The company owes its creation to Prince Lev Golitsyn, who for the first time in the Russian Empire laid an underground winery.
During the Great Patriotic War, the gold collection of “Massandra” was saved by the employees of the enterprise from the Hitler invaders.
Massandra wines are famous all over the world, medals are awarded at competitions and exhibitions. White Red Stone Muscat has twice been recognized as the best wine in the world.
The factories produce several dozen vintage and ordinary wines, 10 million bottles are bottled every year.
Massandra invites guests to tastings, quests and labor tours to collect grapes for wine production.
The Sunny Valley Winery
In the south-east of the peninsula in the village of Sunny Valley is the famous winery.
Nature has taken care of a unique microzone: vineyards are spread between the sea and the mountains, there is little precipitation, and the soils are rich in a special sandy-silicon composition. Here every summer is guaranteed high air temperature and a lot of sun. Winemaking developed in these parts from the VII - VI centuries BC.

The Greeks and Genoese who lived in these territories left a rich heritage - autochthonous grape varieties, which are found only here, and became the basis for legendary wines: "Black Doctor of the Solar Valley", "Black Colonel", "Sunny Valley vintage", "Meganom".
The quality of the drinks is noted by the professional community of winemakers.
Guests of the winery can come to one of the excursion programs with tasting: visit the plant and the ancient cellars of "Archaderesse", which was founded at the end of the XIX century by the master of domestic winemaking L.S. Golitsyn; communicate with the sommelier and go on a retro tasting by candlelight.

House of champagne wines "New World"
8 km from Sudak on the Black Sea coast there is a tiny picturesque village of New World, there, in his estate at the end of the XIX century, Prince Lev Golitsyn, the father of domestic winemaking, founded the plant.
The company produces 18 brands of champagne and sparkling wines. Drinks received awards at international competitions: Super Grand Prix Cups and Grand Prix Cups, became gold, silver, bronze medalists.
Guests of the village can take part in wine tours with tastings in the House of Champagne Wine and the Museum of Viticulture and Winemaking named after L.S. Golitsyn, and get on the evening program by candlelight.
Before leaving, it is necessary to walk along the sea by the winding path of Golitsyn, and see the famous grotto in which there was a Golitsyn wine library, and, according to legend, the great singer Chaliapin gave concerts to the sound of the surf and the cries of gulls.
Factory of vintage wines "Koktebel"
We move to the east of the peninsula, and come to the "edge of blue hills" - the village. cocktail.
The history of winemaking in Koktebel is associated with the names of the scientist E. A. Junge, who founded grape plantations, and his son A. E. Junge, who continued the work of his father.
World wars stopped the development of the plant, and the new stage began only in 1944, when the Crimea was liberated from the German occupiers.
In the 1960s, near the village, Moscow metro builders build a system of unique tunnels - the lower and upper wine storage. Since 1972, the plant has been collecting its own enoteca: the collection is replenished with drinks of the most successful years.
The plant has opened the largest Madeira site for the production of the famous "Madera Koktebel" - connoisseurs call it the pride of Crimean winemaking. The wine has been produced since 1944 and has received international awards.
Winery "Golden beam"
In 1889, balaklaveMajor General Alexander Witmer laid down a wine cellar, later wineries will be formed here.
The Sevastopol wine zone is considered a unique terroir: in the Crimean steppes it is sunny and dry, the mountains save from cold and wind, and the proximity of the Black Sea guarantees suitable humidity.
Winemakers grow more than 30 grape varieties for quiet and sparkling drinks.
"Golden Beam" positions itself as a unique tourist complex:
- on the territory of the winery there are tasting rooms, branded shops, a restaurant.
- In a comfortable ART park you can spend time with your family: children - to play on the court, and adults to admire the picturesque views.
- Guests and residents of the peninsula can participate in annual events such as the #ZBFest music festival and the #WineFest harvest and wine festival.
Inkerman factory of vintage wine
The plant was opened in 1961 in the south-western part of the Crimea, the first produced vintage wine - "Rkatsiteli Inkermanskoye".
On the shore of the ancient Akhtiar Bay in the underground workings there are unique basements - wine storages with a suitable microclimate.
Wines of the Inkerman factory became prize-winners and laureates of professional competitions of winemakers: 13 Grand Prix cups, more than a hundred gold, 50 silver and 13 bronze awards.
Guests of the plant can come on a tour of the plant with a visit to storage facilities and tastings.
