In which resorts of Russia tourists rest this summer?

A month has passed since the opening of the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory for tourists and three weeks since the opening of the Crimea.

The largest travel agencies confirm that the demand for Black Sea resorts in this “concentrated” season in closed borders is several times higher than the demand in 2019. The absolute leader of preferences among Russians is a beach holiday.

“At the moment (as of July 21), we have already sold 7% more tours in Russia than for the entire summer season of 2019 (departures June-September),” says one of the representatives of the network of travel agencies.

The absolute leader in sales of Russian tours - Big Sochi 49% of all sales. Second place in the Crimea – 30% of tours sold Anapa- 16%.

After a month of active sales in the 2020 season, the Black Sea resorts of the Krasnodar Territory and the Crimea together occupy 95% of all tours sold by the network in Russia.

The share of Krasnodar Krai is 65% (two-thirds of the total).

In 2019, the distribution of resorts in the Black Sea segment was different. Greater Sochi in 2019 took a share of 43.6%, Anapa – 40.4%, Crimea – 14.6%.

This year, the increase in the share of Greater Sochi in sales of tours in the Russian Federation + 13.1%, the Crimea + 107%. At the same time, the explosive demand for tours to the Crimea sharply reduced the share of Anapa in sales (but not volumes, given the hype in demand).

Another trend in organized tourism is greater attention to non-Black Sea destinations.

There's a growing interest in kaliningradTo the tours to Baikal and Altai. The share of tours to Kaliningrad in sales compared to 2019 increased from 1.2% to 4% of the total volume of tours sold.

Sales in Baikal and Altai areas increased by more than 4 times in the federal network of travel agencies (from 0.1% to 0.46% of all sales). These destinations remain niche in the organized segment, together occupying about 1% of the total volume of tours sold in a month in Russia.
