On the Curonian Spit, the tourist flow is actively restored

FGBI "National Park "Curonian Spit" notes a high demand for tourist services. This was told by the director of the institution Anatoly Kalina.

In March, visits to the Curonian Spit were banned due to the coronavirus pandemic.

We started accepting organized tourist groups from the beginning of last week – from June 23. And immediately came to us small buses designed for 5-7 people. Already at the end of the first week, we noted an increased demand for tourist services.

Every day, the number of residents of the Kaliningrad region who come to rest is growing, for whom the spit has been closed since March.

Kaliningrad residents sunbathe on the beaches, swim, and visit tourist sites.

For all of us, there are three tourist routes, seven ecological trails, as well as the Visit Center museum complex, where guides of the national park work. In addition, travel companies have accredited guides who are engaged in group and personal tours. And independent tourists have the opportunity to use our electronic guide.”

Kosa is one of the tourist attractions of the Kaliningrad region, its visit has become almost a mandatory attribute for every guest of the region.

The Curonian Spit is a 98 km long sandy peninsula, the longest sandy patch in the world. In 2000, the Curonian Spit was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
